I know this is true. Something happens when I enter the Three Forks region near the Big Drunk's trading post. I think it is the Neosho River on the west side. On one side of two steel beams is 1830 and on the other side is 2006.
I can pass back and forth without harm but can only do this once during each new moon.
I am 46 years old - I will be 47 in November - and I don't know who I am or where I belong.
I think I have given you too much of the ending and not enough of the start of this story. Many years ago I was told that when I write stories I need to hint at the larger meaning so that my readers will be interested enough to continue. Maybe I should tell you this much: In 1830 I am a slave to a Choctaw royal family, yet in 2006 I have a submissive. It is a dichotomy that I am not sure I can continue living with.
