WooHoo!! It was finally warm here. My thermometer in a shady spot on the back porch said 81. The car (in the shade)said 80. I mowed the lawn. Had shorts and shoes on. No shirt. I was sweating like a pig. Water running off me like I was in a shower. Turn on the Weather Channel. They say it is 68. No fucking way. But then again these are the people who at 9am said we had 1/10th mile visibility with fog. I could clearly see the Berkeley Hills from my yard. A good 15 or so miles as the crow flies. Makes me wonder where they have the reporting station. LOL
And so it goes.....

My doctor was even more impressed than I was over my test results. Especially after she found found out how crap my diet was over the last two or three months.
When talking about the A1C test, she mentioned she only wants me to keep it under 7. I told her my goal is to have below 6 (top threshold for normal) and to be off the metformin. Her eyes got big. I told her it will not happen if you don't dream it and believe it. I sure as hell am not settling for 7.
Only bit of bad news is I have a cyst on the underside of my left thumb knuckle. Doctor just wants to watch it. If it gets bigger then we'll decide on removing it. Current it is just annoying.

I am in a good place right now. Finding inner peace after the all the ups and downs of the last two years. Kind of feel like Bandit, sitting in the rocking chair while smokey cruises by.

Like I said last week, I am truly amazed by the friends I have on here and the ones who have left but are still keeping in touch. Some people who I didn't even know cared have shown they do. So thank you all. I appreciate it and call the favor in anytime you need to.

Depending on where you live

Is it me or is a yard sale false advertising? I mean really, have you ever been to a yard sale where you could buy the yard. Usually the person has some awful looking bar stools, maybe some power tools and bunches of ugly clothes. But when you offer to buy the land they get freaky. Same thing with Garage Sales. I have seen some damn nice garages but no one will sell the garage to me. Again a bunch of stuff I would have no use for, yea they will sell that to me.
C'est La Vie. LOL

Which, given the alternative, is a great way to start the day.

Took my coffee into the backyard. It was a bit chilly. Temp was low 40'sF but the air was heavy and damp from the rain overnight. But it smelled fresh and glorious. The sky was a waking blue colour. It was after all 7am. Wisps of clouds floated to the east, reminders of last nights rain. The birds were singing. On the palm tree in the neighbors yard, two squirrels chased each other in a game of tag.

I sat out there drinking my first cup of coffee. Thoughts of what is not great in my life drifted in my head. But the list of things that are right took over, a much much longer list. It was a peaceful, almost zen, state. Like Louie Armstrong sang:

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.
