Friday, March 28, 2008, 6:47:01 PM- My things to do (from list below)

I have managed to do all of 1), half of 2), most of 3) (but have run out of time), all of 4) (I have a "sassy" bob - according to Mr McB!), none of 5) and all of 6).

Am knackered today. We were out at the party (most of which was actually in a lovley curry establishment - yum!!) and I did have a few alcoholic beverages. Wasn't hungover this morning but was so tired.

Then had a non stop day of trying to finish everything I have to do before I go on leave, anticipate any interference from some of the gits I work with (they always try and stir up panic when anyone is off!) and lay contingency plans with those who aren't gits. Luckily there are a few nice folk who will look after things and try to squash the other bastards!! (who have all been off on leave this week - it's been lovely!)

Got the birthday party tomorrow night when we get to wear silly rocker outfits. I will mostly be a blonde rock chick tomorrow!

What a week I have before we head off to Italia. Amongst other things, I have to:

1. organise a party for 2 colleagues who are leaving on Thursday (am praying that the presents be delivered from Amazon before then!)
2. sort out 2 fancy dress outfits for a birthday party we are going to on Saturday (again hoping our "rocker" wigs and t-shirts arrive on time!)
3. get everything ready in work so I can leave with a happy heart!
4. Have my hair done! (I currently have what looks like a large birds nest on my head and a big grey streak forming rapidly!)
5. Think about the trip, what I want to see and what I am going to take. As it's a road trip of sorts I am planning to travel light.
6. Try and find the tickets I have for a stand up comedian we are going to see on Sunday evening!

Everything happens at once eh! Not sure if I have time to take any new pics before we head off on our hols, but hope to get some sorted when we come back

It's black, it's sleek, runs on batteries and sends me into fits of ectasy! I've been playing with it all afternoon and am exhausted

I am just no good at watching sport. Even though I only have a basic understanding of the rules, I just get way too excited and frustrated watching it.

I am currently typing this whilst ignoring the rugby final, where the country of my birth is playing a really really important game in a very patriotic setting. If I was at the stadium, I reckon I'd be in the loo, avoiding watching! What is the point eh!? LOL.

It's a bit too early to numb the excitment with wine....

Our visitors have gone now (and no they weren't a "nest of cunts" Torchey - lol!).

Wales won their rugby match - very exciting - and as my visitors were Scottish they also enjoyed the fact that Scotland won their match too.

We went out locally in the day, watched the match, had a few nice drinkies, then went into the city to a few more pubs and realised that I don't actually like going out there any more. I just want to go to pubs wearing jeans and not having to be too glamorous. Every woman seemed to be wearing dresses last night and were quite glam. I don't really do glam - give me a pint in an old "spit and sawdust" pub with a decent jukebox and a pool table any day!

We still had a good time though and as I am a lightweight, I drank a lot of soft drinks between the alcohol

No hangover for me today

It's nearly Friday.... isn't it?

I have a weekend of entertaining friends and watching rugby in the local pub. My pub is so local it is literally across the street.

I don't really watch rugby that often, though in Wales it is almost compulsory to watch from birth. We are generally not that good at it, but are better at the moment, so may be a good day - who knows!

What worries me is that kick off is at 1pm and people tend to start drinking around noon. Wales is a nation of hard drinkers. We are very good at it - better than we are at rugby probably.

Now I know that the UK is pretty famous for its binge drinking these days - but the older I get, the more rubbish I seem to get at drinking alcohol. I have no doubt that the people I go with will be knocking it back and very successfully too. I will feel obliged to join in and probably be merry by 1.10!

I used to be quite good at drinking but, on this basis, by the time I am 50 I will be having an occasional sweet sherry or chocolate liquer and be feeling a bit giddy!

For the first time last night I watched "Boogie Nights" and really enjoyed it. [url]http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118749/[/url]

It did remind me of all the 70s and 80s porn we used to watch as youngsters LOL! I loved seeing the decor and clothes - really took us back to the days, especially Mr McB who was a teen in the US at that time!

What I ask myself is.... what the Hell was I doing in 1997 to miss this great film, whilst still managing to see the truly dreadful "Titanic" which was also released that year.... ?
