However, after I explained my predicament to my friends (they're a married couple) the other evening, I was advised not to give up too soon. My female friend pointed out that she had been seriously dating when she met her current husband. They're about as happy a couple as I've ever known. Her words were, "Don't count yourself out." Plus, my ex left me for another guy. I thought things were fine between us (she gave me no indication otherwise), yet she found someone new. I guess she's happy, but I don't hear from her anymore. So, point being, maybe I will get my chance; maybe it will be with the girl at work. I will play it kind of low key for now. I figure, she knows my feelings - if she wants to be with me, she'll let me know.
