My first time on here in a while..... I would agree with that crazy mother if your bf's hands were covered in filth, urine, dirt or some other extreme but "normal" hands do not require washing just to hold a baby. She is gonna turn her kid into a germaophobe!

I'd have to disagree...you don't know where someone else's hands have been...and infants don't have very good immune systems. When it comes to the care of someone who's completely dependent on you, it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Nah I think that's way over the top ...if you disinfect everything around them they never get the opportunity to develop an immune system and will end up getting ever bug around

It depends on the age of the baby. It really does. A baby under the age of 6 months has not built up a proper immune system. So it truly does depend.

Nah my kids were all brought up in the country ..played in dirt, rolled in dirt heck they probably ate it half the time...all as strong as ones lol. The baby was probably wrapped in a blanket I'm sure he didn't put his fingers in its mouth

I always believed 'a little dirt never hurt'....you can be careful but too careful, as long as he never stuck his fingers in it's mouth it should be fine lol!

As soon as my boys were over the age of 6 months, it was a free for all after that. They were both mud slinging, bug eating, finger dipping lil boys. I was down there in the dirt with them

Never even crossed my mind - lol but than again my kids do not have any allergies either - so I guess I did right by letting them all in :)
