You dont necessarily have an exact idea of what is actually going on within his own mind to know why he is withdrawing more from you. In all relationships its not about being 50/50, but rather 100/100. If you feel that he is slacking in his area, continue to be giving it your 100 so you arent fighting fire with fire, Such as on the night steak became chicken nuggets. If he touches you, embrace that, cherish it, not think "i want to hit him" There seems to be a real heart to heart that needs to take place, so my advice, talk about it. Seriously.
