Twice I have read that U.S. tax money helps McDonald's advertise in other countries. It that it true, it is clearly wrong. The Republican Party talks the talk about the capitalist market place. It should walk the walk and get rid of business subsidies.

You can bash "McYuckie" all you want, but there is also a sepereate side to this corporate than what most know. Ronad McDonald House Charity has three core programs that help families in need: Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. As the most well-known program, Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. The second major program, Ronald McDonald Family Room, extends the comfort of a Ronald McDonald House into the hospital. Often located steps away from pediatric and intensive care units, a Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a place to enjoy a warm meal, talk with other parents and relax. They are also commited to education, the amount of grants that has been given to date is well over 29 million. So before you cast judgement on "its food and how horrible it is".. stop and think about the families that company has also touched. I know my family will forever be grateful for the Ronald McDonald House, without it my sister would not have been able to stay with my niece in the NICU. Just my 2 cents!

Bravo, m2mc, Bravo indeed.

Thats fine m2m.
However, it a good ploy to put a small fraction of profits into such schemes to make them look good good..
Its a fine tax free bit of advertizing which as you say helps a few as well.
Something similar is that they are a main sponser to the the London Olympics.
Its method is to invest in things that make them look good, when they still basically sell unhealthy products...

For a long time the cigarette companies have contributed a lot of money to charity also.

for someone that claims to hate Mcdonalds and all it stands for you seem to eat there very often making mention of how you only eat half because its McDonalds. i eat at Mcdonalds once maybe twice a year and only when I have to not because I hate them like you say you do but because there healthier choices I can make.
yet here you are eating at McDonalds every couple weeks it seems and yet you hate them and throw half the food away. so you have money to throw away on McDonalds but don't have money to buy a decent computer that lets you see warnings given to by support in open chat that everyone else saw.

There was a story on tv about the American indian, who used to have such a healthy lifestyle. Then they started eating McJunkies and other junk, lss physical activity etc.now many of them are sick and heavy. But look on the bright side Raven at least in the UK they do not show prescription drug commercials on television.-To me that is totally unacceptable. And by the way, every big business has a charity to make "them the business look good". Even Walmart has a charity or 2,and Walmart/Asda are terrible. Pete

Obviously "pete" and Rainven, neither one of you has EVER owned a business of your own, yet you see fit to whine about them. NEWSFLASH, McDonalds is ridiculously profitable and they don't give a rats ass what either one of you think about them. I pray neither one of you ever needs those charities that McDonalds or Walmart provide, yet it's hypocrites like you that run for aid after bitching about them for your entire life. I'd be willing to bet neither of you has done a charitable thing in your miserable lives, but BITCH about others that do

I am a business owner.I'm not putting down the charity, just the fact that when I see walmart having everything made in China and having a few charities it seems kind of hypocritical by the company.Thats all. Pete
