But I refuse to stand for those that now live in this country...and still do not know that the price of freedom isn't free. I'm jealous...We don't have a museum like that nearby.

Take for example his view on slavery vs. his view on black people in general. Abe was totally against slavery, but he didn't feel blacks should be held equal to whites either. He originally thought it would be better to abolish slavery and then send the blacks to Liberia or the country they came from (why did he pick Liberia?). Lincoln is exactly the type of person that makes us Americans. Even though we have difference and don't agree on everything, we can set that aside and work, live and play together.
