Wednesday, January 4, 2006, 4:50:12 PM- Back to work - blahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Well tomorrow is the day. The holidays are officially over for me and I am back to work tomorrow morning @ 9 am!! I have been off since December 21st and have been enjoying the "life of leisure". In fact it is 11:47 am as I type and I am sitting in a towel having just finished my shower and its almost noon!!!!!

Guess I can't complain. I had the entire summer off and that was an experience I would love to repeat every summer but can't see it happening.

Having company today so I should get dressed and fix up the house. Have a great one all & for those of you already back to work......it's hump day.....the weekend is almost here!!

I have heard many of you over the past couple of weeks proclaim 2005 as being the best or worst of years and for some even a combination of both. Perhaps it is my nature but I always fear labeling anything as best or worst. I guess it is the fear that things could always be worse be for and there is always room for improvement in everyone and everything.

I am grateful for my family and friends and my health and the the fact that despite some illness among my family we are still doing quite well. I suffered this year with mono as did my daughter but again that is so minor compared to how terribly others have suffered. My triumphs this year FAR outweigh my strifes.

We would all like to lose that nagging 5-10 lbs.....quit smoking (I don't smoke but its a common resolution) but for me this year I am setting goals about personal bests. I want to be the best mom I can possibly be, the best daughter, aunt, sister etc. Life is a gift and its also what you make it. Best wishes for health and happiness amongst my dear friends here at nn.

I have been a busy little TG - too busy really!! I have been off work since the 21st and the entire week seems to be just a big ole blurrrrrrrrr!! Shopping, Christmas then more shopping (boxing day - that was fun for me!!) and visiting.

Now the preparation begins for my New Year's Eve party!! Cleaning and shopping and cooking and preparing...but it will be fun.

So I sign out with a big "hope to see you all here tomorrow night" and may 2006 be the best year ever!!!

.......although you don't have to be canadians to appreciate this joke......it is funny, yet sad.....and even more sad......its somewhat true......

A young man named Paul bought a donkey from an old farmer for $100.00. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day. When the farmer drove up the next day, he said, "Sorry son, but I have some bad news...the donkey is on my truck, but he's dead."

Paul replied, "Well then, just give me my money back."

The farmer said, "I Can't do that. I went and spent it already."

Paul said, "OK then, just unload the donkey anyway".

The farmer asked, "What are ya gonna do with him?"

Paul said, "I'm going to raffle him off."

To which the farmer exclaimed, "You can't raffle off a dead donkey!"

But Paul, with a big smile on his face, said "Sure I can. Watch me. I just won't tell anybody that he's dead."

A month later the farmer met up with Paul and asked, "What happened with that dead donkey?"

Paul said, "I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars a
piece and made a profit of $698.00."

Totally amazed, the farmer asked, "Didn't anyone complain that you had stolen their money because you lied about the donkey being dead?"

And Paul replied, "The only guy who found out about the donkey being dead was the raffle winner, when he came to claim his prize. So I gave him his $2 back plus $200 extra, which is double the going value of a donkey, so he thought I was a great guy."

Paul grew up and eventually became the Prime Minister of Canada, and no matter how many times he lied or how much money he stole from Canadian voters, as long as he gave them back some of the stolen money, most of them thought he was a great guy

Does anyone else's kids have one or more of these "oh-so-annoying" toys?? A month ago my kids were whinning that "everyone in school has a tamagotchi but us" so I felt somewhat guilted into taking them to ToysRus and getting them each one. Most of you know I have 3 children so that makes 3 Tamagotchi's too!!!!! For those of you who don't yet know what they are......well.....they are an electronic/digital "child" so to speak. So I now have 3 kids are 3 cyber kids!!!! Like I wasn't busy enough already. These stupid toys poo, cry, get sick, need to be played with etc etc just like a real child. If you don't look after them........they die!!! Although they do have a pause button I have learned that placing them on pause does not stop them from pooping!! Exactly 3 days after I bought them they were banned from school so now I AM RESPONSIBLE to care for them from 9-3:30......WTF!!!!!! They never stop and I am exhausted.......feeling like I have a newborn again.....if your kids don't have them........take my advice..........DON'T GET THEM ONE THEY WILL DRIVE "YOU" CRAZY!!!
