I have been a member here for a long time. It is a part of my life and probably will be until I die. A certain (former) loved one introduced me to NN. He has come and gone through the years under different names. I have never left and still remain the same. Don't say it in a demeaning, insulting or negative tone.

I am all woman, this is true. I like pretty toes, lovely nails, delicate clothing, soft things, tending house and I prefer it when men open the doors for me.

Christmas is almost here...........................again?

Usually I wait until two weeks before Christmas to start my shopping. This year I started last week.
The recipient of that first gift is my youngest.
It was a mushroom growing kit. The kid can't get enough of them. Soooooooooooooo, since he grows his own food, I thought, why not?

I put me in the mood to do more shopping. So, I have broken my own tradition of waiting two weeks before.

By now it is all over the net that Bill Cosby has been released from prison due to the case being over turned.
Why? Judicial Misconduct and a Judicial Technicality.
Who caused it? The Prosecutor who decided to take it upon himself to try a case that had already been settled by the previous Prosecutor.

Breakdown:

The DA gave a prosecutor the ability to try Cosby in a Civil Manner. The deal was that Cosby cop to the a_ssa_ult of the young woman in question.
In several closed door depositions Cosby admitted wrong doing and would honor the demand of the prosecutor and young woman to accept and get paid 3.38 million dollars.
The deal was plead out in a deposition, pay her the 3.38 million, not discuss the depositions and move on.
The plea was accepted and signed.

But! The incoming prosecutor replacing the outgoing prosecutor decided not to honor the signed civil plea deal. (which by the way, he cannot do once it was accepted by the DA)
He decided to take it to file days before the statute of limitations ran out and take it to court where the young woman testified against Cosby knowing full well that she had already made a deal.

This is where it was considered misconduct and violating the judicial laws that are set in place for EVERYONE.

Now, as much as it is painful to watch or see the slime ball being released. Yes, he is a slime ball, but he is afforded the rights of a fair system. We are all afforded those rights. If any one of you were guilty of wrong doing, but you did not receive a fair trial, I would fight for your rights. The prosecutor took the prior agreement personally and decided to be judge and jury. This is prosecutorial misconduct.

As a public servant who has been involved in the judicial system for over 30 years, I must follow the law, the justice system, everyone's rights and make sure other public servants follow our laws.

So, now the victim and her supporters and hundreds of celebs are up in arms and attacking Cosby. Why? Hell if I know. His attorneys proved their case of technical misconduct and proved that the prior agreement and judgment wasn't honored. Basically a Judicial Technicality. The victims supporters are also up in arms and attacking the judges who over turned the conviction. Why? Hell if I know. They were only following judicial policies.

Even the victims attorney, Gloria Alred understood that the conviction was over turned due to technical grounds.

If the supporters of the women want to scream at someone, they need to scream at the prosecutor who had no right to not honor a previously signed judgement.

This is why our system works. If it is done right, it works. If everyone involved crosses their T's, dots their I's, the system works.

The decision does not negate his guilt and it certainly doesn't mean he is innocent. Not by any means. It just means that it was proven that his rights were violated.

So what is in store for Cosby now? Well, pretty much nothing. He has been cast out of Hollywood never to work again. But, there will be book deals and I am sure the networks are already on the phone with his manager in order to secure the first interview. Which I would imagine will be hundreds of millions of dollars. He will always be in demand for interviews.

In our teens and in our 20's most of us did stupid things with strangers that put our lives in danger. We never thought of the consequences. I am guilty of just that when at the age of 18 years of age I hopped into a car with a guy and went to his apartment for a one night stand. Since then I have been more responsible around men or strangers and the consequences of my actions and life. Oh, I am not talking about the adventures I go on alone or when I hike up sides of hills, follow a mountain lions footprints, drive cross country alone etc etc. When I travel, I take care not to put myself into situations with strangers that I cannot get out of.

I am so saddened by the murder of a 34 year old female former Marine who was studying in Russia.
In Russia she was murdered by a man she didn't know. She didn't wait for her Uber and instead she got into a strangers car. While in the car she texted her Mom that she was in a car with a stranger and hoped he wasn't going to xxxxxxxxxx her.

The exact passage was:
“In a car with a stranger, I hope I’m not being xxxxxxxxxxxx.”
That was the last text to her Mom.
Later on her body would be discovered. She was murdered by a man who was a known violent criminal.

Why? Why would a woman of great intelligence get into a car with a stranger? In one thought I am so sad over her brutal death, yet in another thought I want to scream "HOW STUPID OF YOU!" I get so conflicted when such things happen. It is hard not to blame her stupidity, but at the same time, I was not in her shoes and didn't know why she decided to do what she did. She didn't deserve her end and that is the bottom line.

It's maddening to know that with all of the dangers out there in the world, woman still put themselves in danger on purpose. It's like children drowning in pools or kids being left in hot cars. We hear about them every year, but people still don't pay attention.

May her family find peace when her body is flown back to the US and may she rest in peace when she is honored for her service and life.

Ladies, please stop and really think about your lives. If you have to wait for a car longer than expected, wait for it!
