Friday, July 9, 2010, 4:06:47 AM- Kidney stones suck....and it wasn't even mine.
My wife has been in some major pain the last few days, and didn't know why. Yesterday morning she went to a urologist, and a sonogram found a blockage in the left ureter, (the tube that runs from the kidney to the bladder).

He sent her home, and told her if it got worse, to go to the ER. An hour after she got to work this morning, she called me, the pain was so intense it was making it hard to breathe.

I took her to the ER, and they gave her some pain meds, and then did a CT scan. Good news, some time between yesterday's sonogram and the CT scan today, she passed a kidney stone. Bad news, she's still hurting like hell.

The doctor said it's common for the irritation and pain to be worse after than while passing the stone. Anyway, now she's doped up on pain meds, and sleeping finally.

Hopefully, tomorrow is better.

Sunday, June 27, 2010, 11:23:45 PM- Vacation!!!
My son was feeling better this morning, so we braved the cool rainy weather to head out to Mackinac Island Michigan. The only way to get there is by ferry, or the air. We chose the ferry, I couldn't see paying $400 to travel 8 miles.

The ferry took us under the Mackinac Bridge, that connects the Upper and Lower peninsulas of Michigan.

The island itself was a combination of American History, and tourist trap, LOL. We spent some time checking out the Historic Fort Mackinac, which sits high on the hill overlooking the island's harbor.

The view from up here was pretty spectacular, and made you think how well suited the site was for a fort to control the waters of the Mackinac Straits, that join Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.

Despite the rainy and cloudy conditions, we had a fun day. We ate fudge samples till our son wasn't the only one with a belly ache, lol.

We had a "pasty" for lunch, a local dish similar to a pot pie, without the pot. Think a hotpocket on steroids only much much tastier.

The ferry ride back was a little choppy, but not bad, and the wife and I even got in a little necking time while our son was on the upper deck driving the captain nuts with his questions about how the ferry operated, LOL.

Then we hit the road, getting into Sault Ste. Marie around five pm. We at a big supper and are going to hang out in the pool and hottub for a bit before hitting the sack.

Have fun ya'all.

Sunday, June 27, 2010, 2:44:19 AM- What a day!!
So, we wake up this morning and my son is complaining of a severe stomach ache...which turned into severe diarrhea for the next 12 hours.

So, we ended up in the ER instead of on Mackinaw Island. He has a "nasty virus", according to the ER doc, this was after blood work, urine test, and a CAT scan to rule out appendicitis.

So, it's a 24 hour liquid diet for him, while my wife and I enjoy all the local foods, LOL.

Catch you all later.

Saturday, June 26, 2010, 2:14:53 AM- VACATION
I just spent fifteen hours in a minivan with my wife, my son, and our dog, LOL. God I hate long drives. But we made it ok, and are relaxing in the motel waiting for our food to be delivered.

We stopped at South Haven MI on the way and ate lunch on the beach. Wow, all the hot chicks in bikinis were a real treat.

My son, who's almost fourteen, said that made the long drive worth it, LOL.

My sister is trying to one up me, we share a birthday two years apart, tomorrow, and she and our parents are on a two week trip touring the south west US. They are in Amarillo TX tonight and she tried to call and wish me a Happy Birthday today, as I always beat her to the punch on our birthday.

I told her it didn't count as it wasn't actually our birthday yet, so tonight at midnight here, I'm going to call her, since we are several time zones ahead, and it will only be 8 or 9 there. (still need to check the time differences, as we moved one zone eastward also.)

Once again, I'll beat her to the punch. MWAHAHAHA!

Friday, May 14, 2010, 7:42:26 AM- What a week....
So, we finally get my wife's van...and boy is it nice. The Braun Corp. did a fantastic job on the modifications, and the people that did the final adjustments were super.

She says she feels like she has her independence back, as she can just get in it and go, no transferring into the drivers seat, which had become nearly impossible for her and is why we replaced the old one. Well, that and it was a piece of shit that broke down constantly, lol.

So, we get home late last Thursday and there is a letter from the Sect. of State's office for her. Remember all the hoops we had to jump through, doctor's forms and testing, and all that shit?

Well, one of the doctors had filled one of the forms out wrong, actually, he failed to check one small box on the three page form, and the fuckers at the DMV CANCELED her license.

No letter saying "hey, you need to fix this" or even a phone call. Nope, they just canceled her license. Talk about a great ending to another wise wonderful day. sad

So, all week long it's been phone calls and running back and forth between the DMV and Doc's office, and every time, this bitch at the DMV who was handling my wife's case found something wrong with the fucking form.

Finally, Wed. my wife called AGAIN to find out what the bitch wanted as her license was still canceled, and the bitch was gone for the day.

This was the final straw for my wife and she broke down and started crying to the guy who answered the phone. He asked for her name and birth date, and after looking her file over said there was no reason for her license to have been canceled in the first place, as a phone call to the doc's office would have cleared it all up.

WTF!!! We've been jumping through this bitch's fucking hoops for a week, trying to get her what she kept saying she needed and NONE of it was necessary?

My wife went from crying to PISSED OFF in .15 seconds. LOL She ripped into the poor guy with vigor, and after he got her calmed down he explained he was the bitch's BOSS!!!

YEP, LOL...to say the least he wasn't happy about the ass chewing he got from my wife because of what the bitch had done, so I would imagine that someone will be hearing about it. LMAO

So, he reinstates my wife's license, apologizes repeatedly, and tells her that he will mail out the learners permit for the hand controls right away.

She asked if she could just take the test, she'd been practicing, on private property, and felt ready to take the driver's test. He asked her to be at the DMV at 8AM Thursday for the driving exam.

Sure enough, when she arrives, HE gave her the test, and she passed with flying colors. He once again apologized for all the problems we'd had, and told my wife that if she wanted he would have the "bitch" come down and apologize too.

My wife told him it was probably wiser for her never to meet the woman face to face, and she drove off with her new DL.

She did file a formal complaint, as the bitch's boss recommended, so I have to wonder just how long that particular person will remain employed.

So, the good news is she now has her van, and her license, and boy is she making use of them both.

Oh, and she said we'll have to "christen" the new van later this week. wink

At nearly 40, are we to old to go parking? LOL

Thursday, May 6, 2010, 12:33:41 PM- Finally....
They are done with the modifications to my wife's new van, and we're off to pick it up.

It's not quite that simple though, they have a few adjustments to make, and have to install the lock plate to the bottom of her wheelchair.

Long story short, they need her chair and the new van for most of the day, so they are providing a loner chair for her to use, and we'll spend most the day hanging around the mall, etc., waiting for them to get finished.

But it's finally done, yeeeaaaahhhhh!!! Oh, and it's my wife's birthday today too, so it's perfect timing, LOL.

Saturday, May 1, 2010, 3:05:37 PM- Mushroom Season
I'm off to the woods in search of the elusive Morel Mushroom. Weather has been good for them this year, if the wind didn't dry them out. Rained last night, and the temp is supposed to hit 80 today, so conditions look right.

See ya!

Friday, April 30, 2010, 12:54:20 PM- Finally got a day off.
Well, I finally got a day off work, and my wife is feeling a little better, which is a plus.

Damn though, I'm horny, lol. She went on the Wellbutrin and for two weeks I was getting it at least every other day, which was grand, I'm telling you.

Now, with the probs she's having its been since last Saturday...fuck, I'm getting blue balls. sad

But I'm not the only one who's suffering, she asked last night how long she had to wait before we could do it again.

So, I'm going to perv a little this morning, try to catch up on whats happening on NN...and then mow the yard and go mushroom hunting.

Thanks to all the well wishes for my wife.

Catch ya later.

Thursday, April 29, 2010, 12:17:47 PM- That's Life....
All the lab work came back, except for her blood cultures, we have to wait another day or so on them, but all they found was a urinary tract infection.

The doctor said it could cause all her symptoms, and recommended she not return to work until Monday. Bed rest, lots of fluids, and the antibiotics should do the trick.

I've been working 12 hour plus days, we're swamped at work, and then when I get home from work I have to take care of her, along with all the other household chores that aren't getting done because she is ill.

Which leaves little time for perving on here sad, but I'll survive.

On a more positive note, her van is almost finished, and we should be able to take possession a week from today. YEAH!!!!!

Then it's off to a large EMPTY lot so she can learn to use the hand controls, etc. So, be warned, if you see a blue minivan driving in circles in an empty Kmart parking lot, just keep going. LOL

Now, I've got to make sure our son gets off to school on time, and have a hundred other things that I've gotten behind on to take care of.

Behave kiddies. LOL

See ya!!

Tuesday, April 27, 2010, 5:47:43 AM- Ain't medical science great. :(
So I get a call at work today, my wife is headed to the ER, not feeling well.

I talked to her on the phone, she was disoriented, not making sense, dizzy, lightheaded, etc.

I get there around 1PM and we spend the next five hours sitting there while they run a barrage of test.

Xrays, CT scan, blood work (they about drained her dry, lol) urine sample, etc.

After all that they tell us she has an "unknown" infection. Her urine contained white blood cells, so a possible UTI, she has Strep, and she was dehydrated. They admit her, put her in a room, hook her up to two IV pumps and pump her full of fluids.

They say they are going to keep her for the night so I head home to get supper for our son, and make arrangements for him for tomorrow, and then they call and say she's being released and I need to come get her.

So, back to the hospital where we sit for several more hours until they finally finish her paperwork and let her go.

So, she's on bed rest for the next four days, and on an antibiotic or three, and things are back to as normal as they get around here.

Now, I'm off to bed. Shit to do but it will have to wait.

Oh, the new NN Mobile site is great for killing time when sitting around a hospital with nothing else to do. LOL
