Brian Molko has incredibly beautiful eyes. I like his voice, too, but those eyes!

I should be doing laundry...and I have another raspberry cobbler waiting for me to make. But I seem to have lost my motivation. (Well, I have to make the cobbler cause I've already washed the berries. Although my youngest would be more than delighted to devour them.)

Glad this week is almost over. It's the opposite of fun. Though today is ending on a pretty pleasant note. (Quality bonding time with my youngest-her words-while watching "World's Dumbest" and "Impractical Jokers."

Friday, August 23, 2013, 2:54:58 AM- my very late Blog Challenge "School Re-uNNion"

I've always been an avid reader. In high school, my favorite authors were Stephen King and Victoria Holt.

I've been trying to remember how I dressed back then. I know I had a lot of jean skirts. I remember this Victorian style white blouse (with a high neckline and a ton of buttons on the sleeves) that I wore, and the bright green twill skirt that ended up as a mini because I cannot cut in a straight line. (Or sew in one for that matter.) I experimented with my hair color. (From my summer honey blonde to red then brown then back to red then blonde again.) I've always liked not doing what others think I should, and doing things others don't expect. One of my best friends even talked me into wearing some of her leather once.

As far as school activities, I tried out track and basketball. I was in choir. I liked theatre. Mock Trials was one of my favorite things. (Because it's arguing in a relatively civilized manner.) And I was on the school paper my junior year. Journalism was never my thing. (It involves calling people you don't know and asking them a bunch of questions. While I'm all down for the nosiness part of it, I'm just not a phone person.) But writing has always been my thing so I had some of my poetry published my senior year.

So, I decided to mow earlier, before jumping in the shower. As I was close to quitting, I got stung. Just once, almost on my calf. (About two inches below it, towards the side.) I didn't see what it was, but it definitely wasn't a bee or hornet. It was ten times worse than the other week when I was stung a few times by a ground hornet. (I admit, I bawled like a baby, after I was inside the privacy of my own home, of course.) After ice and advil, it's still pretty painful and swollen. So I'm not up to doing pics and the blog challenge but I thought I'd share what was my class song the year I graduated high school.

Well, TTFN, it's way past my bedtime.

The last couple of hours of what was supposed to be alone time were spent on the phone and running something to my youngest because she'd forgotten it. Not how I'd planned spending it. (If things had gone the way I was seeing them, I'd be getting some sun while working on my writing about now because I would have already had playtime. Well, at least I could still gather inspiration while I was on the phone.)

Of course, the ex I'd run into last weekend never called or showed. Not that I'm surprised. I mean, I know not all men are jerks or liars. Just the ones I've been involved with. But I'm not going to be hard on myself because I hooked-up with him (in my car, no less, so I can cross that off my list...although I have gotten myself off in there a time or two.) There are rules to hooking-up, and they do extend to exes. If it's just sex, don't say or act like it's more. And don't expect the other person to treat you like you're something special, more than something casual when you know damn well you never want more than sex from them. (And don't get pissy when they call it what it is.)

Thinking about getting some new toys next month. Since it takes me so long to make decisions that involve spending money, I have to start my window shopping quite awhile before I actually buy anything. (I bought my last cell without doing any research on it because I broke my first one and needed to replace it right away, and I definitely don't love it. I don't even like it.) I don't know much about toys. Like I finally figured out what those rotating pearls or beads or whatever are and what they do and I don't care for them.

I guess I'd better finish my lunch and my other things so I can write and tan. While there's still sun to enjoy.

I was trying to get a picture of that tiny yellow spider but every time I got close, it looked like it was getting ready to bite me or something. And while I can admire some of the prettier ones (if they're small and a safe distance) I'm actually terrified of spiders. Anyway, I spent the past 1 1/2 hours googling raspberry cobbler recipes. It was super hard to find the kind I was looking for, where the cobbler part is less cakey and more like a biscuit/shortbread but I've finally found two. (One completely from scratch and the other uses Bisquick...I'll probably try the first one cause you don't cook the berries before hand.)

Going to take a shower shortly...I'd be getting showering material if I was home alone but sadly, that's not the case. (Thursday's another story.)
