Well firstly I was saddened due to being home from the cottage because of bad weather. Turns out it was a good thing. I am meant to be here and I will tell you why. My daughter (yes the youngest - AGAIN!!) has been suffering with poison ivy since Saturday. It started innocently and almost resembled a heat rash. I did the usual Benedryl to calm the itch and lotion to sooth the rash. However, today it is BIG and ANGRY looking and looks worse by the minute. Just before dinner she informs me that she is having difficulty breathing. I am smart enough to know that you can get it in your lungs as well as your skin so I immediately take her to emergency. After 4 hrs there, we are now home with a 30 mg dose of prednisone for 5 days and a trip planned to the family doctor tomorrow, just to ensure her condition has not worsened. Why her I ask? Why does stuff always happen to her? My son had poison ivy a month or so ago and although he had it in worse "areas" his didn't even close to compare in severity. Nothing bothers me worse than my kids being sick. I am sooooooo tired and yet I will not sleep well tonight because I am worried about her. Oh yeah and came home to a message on my machine that an uncle has early stages or prostate cancer. TG...bending over in case anyone else wants to give it to me up the ass..... |
