Odd yet delightfully intriguing. Morbid yet very very sweet. Sarcasm is part of who I am.....deal with it.

| Tuesday, September 3, 2013, 4:37:27 AM- What freak steals a cell phone battery?. | ||||||
**Sorry, but I am running late on my entry for the CouNNtry Pride Blog Challenge. Please stay tuned on this channel. For now I will share with you a bizarre incident that happened after my kayak adventure. I had mentioned in the previous blog that I had my phone with me. I used my phone to take some great pics and three small videos and I was pumped up to show them to you. But for now, those pics and vids might have to wait. When you are out on the ocean everything that you have gets soaked in salty sea air and the moisture from the ocean. When I arrived back on shore, I made sure to set my camera in the sun so it could air out. Just in case the cell phone was moist, I dismantled it so everything could heat up and dry. I changed out of my wet suit and had a snack right there on the bench. I packed everything up and walked outside. I noticed that I left the cell battery on the bench. Now this was about 3 minutes later, so why worry right? When I walked back to the rest area, the battery was gone! I asked the 4 women if they had seen it and they all looked at each other and shook their heads no. Tell me? What freak takes a battery that belongs to a 5 year old Nokia Flip Cell Phone? That is the reason I am unable to post the other pics and the video of the playful Harbour Seals. **Oh, and by the way, contrary to belief....no...your Smart Chip/Sim Card does NOT transfer everything over to another phone. I put my sim card in an older phone and nothing from my current phone popped up. It was the same information that was on my old phone. WTH? It turns out, you have to save everything to the sim card and not just the phone. Freaking technology! No one told me this..lol

| Monday, September 2, 2013, 6:06:14 AM- Kayak Adventures. | ||||||
First off, my freaking hands and wrists are still sore...lol. My entire body feels good from the work out and I am so loving that. The day went well (except for the phone thing) and I enjoyed it much more than I could have imagined. Here are some of the pictures from my day. Because I am still so overwhelmed by it all, I will describe the day as best as I can. The water was smooth and at times, very rough. But I trekked on. I went under the wharf and saw starfish that were close to 2 feet wide. Holy Shikies I screamed!..lol. Around the wharf were jellyfish galore shining with orange, white or green shades. I could not take pics of this beauty because I was under the wharf and if I didn't keep the paddles moving, I would have crashed into the pilings. After I paddled in and around under the wharf, I started to head on over to the rock jetty. This is where I was spotted by the the Harbour Seals. The Kayak people didn't warn me that they love to interact with the kayakers. By the time I knew it, I was surrounded! They were jumping all around me doing flips, nudging my kayak for attention, popping their heads up and laying them across my kayak and just coasting along with me. I am very sure my laughter was as loud as their barks. ![]() I was laughing so hard I forgot that I had my camera and phone. I did get a few short videos and some great shots on my phone (explanation later) but it was tricky even doing that. So I held on to the kayak oar to keep from drifting away with the swells and called Guitar. I think I broke his ear drum from the laughter and the excitement. Words cannot describe the intensity of the moment that I spent with those spectacular creatures. They were inches from me! ![]() As I paddled away, they followed me. But it was time to wave goodbye. After I thought it couldn't get any better....then came the otters. They were an illusive bunch. They love to play hide and seek in the kelp beds and under the kayaks. It was hard getting their pictures, but I did my best. They also loved swimming around the kayak, but those suckers are FAST! I was lucky to get a few shots. ![]() I was off to the rocks to hang out with the Sea Lions. They are much larger than the Harbour Seals and will play, but are more aggressive. I knew not to stop and take pics of them around the kayak. If I did, their weight would have pushed me over. So I carefully, with one hand, took this shot. The Sea Lion giving me that look, jumped into the water and was swimming underneath me. I could feel his weight brushing below the kayak...lol ![]() I spent 4 hours out in the ocean. I went about a mile out and that is as far as I wanted to go. The swells were huge. I am no stranger to the ocean or any type of water. My days of surfing, sailing, skiing, boogie boarding and body surfing taught me well. I do know the dangers. So I headed on back to the shore because if you get too tired so far out, it is dangerous coming back in. I am still walking on air from my kayak adventure! I plan on doing that again! *I will explain my cell phone ordeal later. I do not want to put anything negative in such a happy blog.

| Sunday, September 1, 2013, 3:32:42 AM- The day was beautiful! | ||||||
I just don't know how to describe the wonder of it all. The day may have started off cloudy, but it wasn't long until they dispersed into a view of lil white pillows. Before long the sky bloomed with sunshine. ![]() Right now I am worn and will find the energy to post the pics I had taken during my kayak adventure. I no longer wonder what it would feel like to sit on top of the water and watch seals jump, play, touch me or say hello to me. It was glorious! Night for now. My hands (again) are running out of energy.

| Saturday, August 31, 2013, 4:40:30 AM- Curiosity leads to discovery and knowledge. | ||||||
When I get curious about something, I read and learn all about it. If it is something to build or create, I do that too. It's something my Dad taught me. If I asked him a question, he wouldn't tell me the answer. Depending on what it was he would either tell me to read the encyclopedias or find out how to do it. I would imagine that is why my curiosity keeps me busy. There is so much to read or learn how to create or build. When I was 16 yrs old I wanted to learn how to cut hair. So I took the year course and BAM! I was soon cutting, perming, curling, setting and styling the heads of family and friends. I also learned how to perform mani/pedis. My Dad loved that part. Years later I learned how to give military style cuts. What I learned those years ago still comes in handy today. Thank god for that! The woman who cut my hair screwed up the bangs and the sides. It's all good because hair grows back! A few snips later and I was able to fix the mistakes. It's a snappy lil haircut. Life goes on so why sweat the small stuff. Right now the night is sublimely comforting with my wine and book. I have planned my day for tomorrow. There is a kayak with my name on it! I plan on getting up close and personal with the otters and seals. There aren't any rocks to slip on or cliffs to fall off, so what could happen? *giggles* I wish that you were here with me.

| Friday, August 30, 2013, 7:29:21 PM- I just have to do it! | ||||||
I tried. I really tried, honest I did. So very much! There is no way around it. My hair reached my shoulders and it is driving me nutso cuckoo. I lived a great deal of my career having my hair up in a bun, pony tail or wrapped. I truly do not want to go back to that style. Soooooooooooo, I am off to get my hair cut. I know, go ahead, call me weak. *hangs head in shame* But I did give it a go and lasted a month or so, instead of a few days. Maybe there is hope for me yet?

| Friday, August 30, 2013, 6:01:27 AM- Old school wisdom. | ||||||
"The moment you know a person is meant for you, is when you still want to be with them after you help them pop a zit on their ass and then check it weekly for more of them" This pearl of wisdom came from a 72 year old, tiny, 5 foot tall Irish woman. Very wise words if you ask me. She married her hubs when she was 16 years old, so I am pretty sure she knows what she is talking about. Comically, how do you know when a person is meant for you?

| Thursday, August 29, 2013, 10:36:08 PM- No license today. | ||||||
Sis M. did not get her license. Bummer....lol. Can you sense my sadness? *snicker* It seems that she tried to debate the worth and need to learn how to parallel park. He asked her to complete the maneuver and when she told him that she didn't and wouldn't plan on ever parallel parking.....the debate began. A debate that ended in the denial of her DL. My sis! What a pip!

| Wednesday, August 28, 2013, 8:47:01 PM- Do rude drivers deserve to have their cars keyed? | ||||||
We have seen this type of rude parking. And most of us have wanted to (but didn't) key the dang car. Ooooooh but we have thought about it....lol. Today, I actually witnessed someone keying a fools car. I, along with another person yelled "hey" but he laughed at us. Another person took down the guys license plate number and waited for the owner of the car to come out. I wonder what it feels like to actually do it? The most I have done in retaliation is leave a nasty note on the windshield. Who has left notes or who has actually keyed a car? Anyone?
