Christmas dinners in our family are not suitable for weak stomachs, always way too much to eat... Tonight there was a dinner with my mother's family and my mother (who loves to cook) was hosting this year. Hors d'oeuvres: salmon mousse on toast, dates wrapped in bacon (baked in the oven), melon wrapped in prosciutto, filled filo pastry parcels. Starter: crab cakes Main course: roasted rabbit with celeriac puree, sauteed mushrooms, plums poached in red wine. I made dessert, as I knew she didn't have enough time: triple chocolate brownies and almond and hazelnut cake, and my mother had bought 4 different types of ice cream to accompany the cake and brownies. I feel like I am going to explode and tomorrow I have two more christmas family gettogethers... |
