The original Blues Brothers movie is one of my favorites. It's especially popular in the Chicago area, not sure how popular elsewhere. There are many fabulous quotes throughout the movie, but this clip shows just how tight John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd were.

This version by Gary Moore is absolutely beautiful. Guitar work is dripping with emotion, the string section is sweet and the Hammond organ laying background is perfect. A wonderful version of a very sweet blues tune.

Always liked this tune. Guy gets around, but has the last laugh... Hey, quit bogarting and pass the joint this way, man...

| Wednesday, June 5, 2013, 1:57:46 AM- Hey, over by da windy city... | ||||||
This is a sight I've been seeing a lot lately. Not a great picture, but my excuse is I was driving and fumbling with an Iphone. This is the view of downtown Chicago from 79th Street and Stoney Island Ave. The tallest building in the middle is the Former Sears Tower, one of the tallest buildings in North America. This really is better looking-my picture does no justice to the city. ![]()

| Sunday, June 2, 2013, 1:30:17 PM- More of the Blues... Gary Primich | ||
The late Gary Primich. Worked with him for a time at a company in Gary, Indiana. He was still learning his craft playing with various Bluesmen on Maxwell Street, in Chicago, IL. Practiced every day during lunch. Great entertainment, he was always very modest about his abilities. He later moved to Texas and forged quite a career in a very tough genre of music, fusing Chicago and Texas Blues into a pretty unique sound. Had some good popularity in Europe and was considered to be one of the best harmonica players in the business. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I think he was a hidden treasure. Lots of examples of his work on youtube.

Wonderful tune from Gary Moore. Brilliant guitar playing, great vocals. Moderately successful in the States in the early '90s. Hard to believe he's been gone for 2 years...

| Saturday, June 1, 2013, 1:17:17 AM- The Messiah Will Come Again-Roy Buchanan | ||||||
This is a version by Roy Buchanan. I believe he wrote this tune. There are several version out in youtube-land, but I like this one the best. Much more laid back. This is a beautiful song played this way. Very understated. Roy was not big on flashy guitar playing, but was one of the greats.

Underappreciated, I think, in the US. This guy is just amazing to watch. This is his interpretation of a Roy Buchanan tune. This tune is fairly long, but really worth the time if you like guitar instrumentals.

| Thursday, May 30, 2013, 2:40:11 AM- Old abandoned building | ||||||
Ran across this building while driving to a job for work. Took a couple of quick Iphone shots and removed the color. Thought it looked a bit better in black and white with the contrast tweaked a bit. May return to get some proper photographs of the building. ![]() ![]()
