mortadella5553's blog post - computer

Thursday, December 6, 2007, 12:15:31 AM
The DSL modem went haywire at work yesteerday, messed around with it for an hour, no luck! so got on the phone with PacBell tech. ahother hour and plunching hundres of keys, the tech says "try pushing the reset button on the back" "F--K ME". Turns out the reset is different than unplugging and replugging. The thing is working again- Why did'nt the a--hole
just start out with 'push the reset'?

Worse yet, the Lap top seems to be dying, froze up, wouldnt boot on restart, odd messages. So tech expert that I am, I started the highly technical and difficult process of pushing buttons while slapping the thing. VOILOA! it's back, however I fear not for long. It made loud whirring noises hen I slapped it -Hard Drive? I'll hope for the best.

Hold on to your hard drive for dear life... wait, that sounded wrong. :p

And, the PacBell tech needed to earn at least 15 min of pay. :p

Wow. A rest button that does something. I always assumed they were there to make me feel I was (in some way) in control. the noise will probably be the fan.

it'll be the fan.

Back-up the data on your laptop. NOW. Slapping might work on TV's but I would never suggest it on laptops, unless you *want* your hard drives to crash ;-)

I hardly ever slap my hard drive, only when absolutely necessary, and when there is no one around! *grin*
