It's really been five days since I logged into NN at all. That's never happened before.

So, what's been going on with me...

At the beginning of the month, I had a dentist's appointment (my first in a long time). He said it was time for my wisdom teeth to come out (they should have been removed years ago, but never got around to it). So I had my referral and on the 25th, I went to the oral surgeon.

A side note as to why I waited so long: my uncle is an oral surgeon. Like a lot of things related to family, I had gotten frustrated at trying to see him to do it. At my dentist's appointment, I decided enough was enough, and I'd seek a referral from my dentist (who I've been seeing for over twenty years now).

Originally, I was to have all four done, and in retrospect it was a great idea only to do two, both on the right side.

OUWWW!! Most of Thursday, and all of Friday, my right side hurt. I'm no stranger to pain, but mouth pain is something unusual. I was given Vicodin (hydrocodone + paracetamol), but with the addictive nature of it I am keeping that on a short leash (only at night to sleep).

Today, Saturday, was the first day it didn't absolutely throb. I'm still a bit swollen, but the worst is over.

As for NN, the site... I realise that in five days not being here, I'm still the same, boring person without it that I am with it. But, ultimately, not being here so much is a good thing. No, I'm not "living life" because those words have been used as a cudgel and not a feather. I'm just elsewhere.
