All of the women my age that show interest in this old geezer either want (1) to get married because they're afraid of being alone or (2) are married and want to have an affair.

So I'm still looking for a woman who just wants a fb (and I don't mean facebook). You'd think that growing up in the 'free love' generation would have a lasting affect.

Apparently not.

When the company I work for was bought out by a new company 91/2 years ago, sweeping changes were made. All but two of the workers from the old company were fired. I was the only worker older than 40. My hours were cut. The new owner hired a bunch of late teens, early 20's people. I was told to my face by the new owner that he thought I would quit when my hours were cut. Out of sheer stubborness, I stayed. Honestly? I wanted to see how far the "new guy" would run the business into the ground.

The first three years were tough: I was constantly told my work was sub par, even though his complaints were about things that weren't my responsibility. After a year, I got my old hours back, although i had to do more work than I had been doing before my hours were cut. After three years, the owner backed off and I recieved two raises.

The overall quality of work continued to decline by others, and we had a continual overturn of workers. Everything came to a head when we lost our contract and were going to be replaced. At the last second, the new replacement company backed out.

I have a strong feeling that the "new guy" learned from almost losing his business. None of the workers now are under 40. Everyone shows up every day and does their job. Everyone gets along. Everyone is paid more money, so everyone is happier.

Sometimes, you just have to lay back and let events work themselves out.

I have cooked breakfast, cleaned, worked out, read the paper (outdoors, to get a little sun) and caught up on my personal mail... and it's not even 4:00 pm yet!

Happy, happy day... now what to do next?

Another hero has gone south. Bill Cosby. I admired his wit and humor for most of my life, but didn't (like most people) know of his darker side.

It's a shame that a beloved man has fallen so low. As the old song by Queen says:
