I heard today that Peter Tork, bass player for the t.v. group/show 'The Monkees', has passed away at age 77. Funny little t.v. show in the 1960's that was only on for two years, but did win an emmy for comedy. Pete was not the lead singer. He only got to sing lead on one song on the show and this was it: His friend Stephen Stills convinced him to audition for the show. The rest, as they are wont to say, is history. R.I.P. Pete. Thanks for the good memories. ~ | ||||||

Ah, a day off! It's President's Day (which is the consolidation of Lincoln & Washington birthdays, plus adding the other "guys"  . I'm off to buy a new hoodie. Black is my choice. I have red, blue and gray ones, but wanted a black one for some time now. I know, I'm sounding like a middle aged woman fantasizing. lol I'll buy some groceries while I'm at it, then home to start on my meatloaf for dinner. That reminds me of a joke teenage guys used to say to each other instead of a goodbye: "Don't let your meatloaf!" I just love it when I have a weekday off from work.  | ||

Tonight, homemade pizza. Tomorrow night, since I have Presidents Day off from work, I'll be making a meatloaf. I know that sounds ordinary to a lot of people, but since my Mother passed away almost 18 years ago I have only made meatloaf once before. I have her old recipe now, so I'll be trying to do it right, even though I know I can never make one as good as Mom's. These are the things you do to bring back good memories of loved one's no longer with us. ~ | ||||||
