Yesterday, 55 degrees. Today, 33 degrees.

Sometimes I feel like Mother Nature is using us as a yo-yo.

Yes, I had to 'sponge it' before work Thursday. When I got home last night, I turned the hot water on and PRESTO! Hot water!

This morning I took a good, long and HOT shower.

The small things in life can make you the happiest, sometimes.

Still no hot water. I got up an hour and a half early today. Yep, I was right... the plumber showed up at 8:00am. So I called their office and was rescheduled for noon to 2:00pm. It's now almost 1:30pm and I haven't heard anything yet.

It's beginning to look like another sponge bath before I go to work. i don't mind, I've done it several times while camping or when I was hitchhiking across the country.

I'd like it a lot better if I had a pretty woman to assist me though.

I started to get into the shower today, and as always I stick my foot in first to see if I need to adjust the temperature.

The water is colder than a grave digger's ass in winter.

I pulled my tootsie back and tried to adjust the heat...

So I tried to call my landlord's office to have maintenance come over and fix the problem, but the office is closed for the holidays. The recording I got referred me to another number, which I then called. Nope, all plumbers are booked up for today, they can't come by until tomorrow. They actually asked me if that is okay. What am I going to say? Of course I was nice and agreed.

So tonight it will be like camping, heating water on the stove to take a sponge bath and to shave.

I'm just glad it's the last day of my holiday time off and not the beginning.

I work afternoons and don't get out of bed until 11:00 am, so of course, I will probably have my doorbell rung any time after 8:00 am.

Like I just said, it could be worse. At east I have heat and lights.

Sunday is usually the day when I gas up the car for the coming week and then go home to laze around, watching movies or sports until I feel like cooking Sunday dinner.

This year I have no work until two days after Christmas.

Damn, I'm lucky!

I'll probably gain ten pounds and waddle back to work on Thursday.

Funny dream last night: Prison inmates breakout... on an island.

I awoke laughing.

Christmas shopping is done. Christmas cards mailed out. Christmas dinner food purchased at the local grocer for Tuesday's upcoming feast.

Now that I have only one more day (today) to work before having five days off, I'm actually in the mood for Christmas.

Let the holiday commence... I'm ready!

Last night I dreamed of a woman I used to work with, Wonder Woman and Mila Kunis (I was watching one of her movies earlier that evening).

I'm glad my dreams have returned to a somewhat normalcy.
