I have a good friend who stated yesterday that Donald Trump is "Not my president'. I don't like Trump myself. However, he IS the president. I told my friend that, although I agree with him as to the man, I would still take a bullet for the president, no matter how I felt about him personally. To me, it's about respect for the office. Period. Of course, if I really had to take that bullet and didn't like the guy, I'd find a way to tell the son of a bitch what I thought of him as a human being... either right before or right after.  | ||

I recently re-watched the 1968 movie: Monterey Pop. It was filmed in 1967. It is famous for all of the 60's performers: Janis Joplin, Canned Heat, The Mammas and the Pappas, The Who, Simon & Garfunkel, Jimi Hendrix. Most of the performances live there were so-so. The exception was by Ravi Shankar. He was brilliant and received a standing ovation after his performance. Don't know who Ravi was? Think sitar. He was the master of that sound and influenced a lot of musicians in the late 1960s, most notably the Beatles. He passed away in 2012 at age 92, but his sound will live on forever. R.I.P. Ravi, and thanks somuch for the music. ~ | ||||||

I had originally made a pun about having sex with the dead and using an outhouse in the winter... both thoughts leave me cold. The odd thing is that when I typed in the word for having sex with the dead, all that showed up in the finished product was a bunch of x's. Odd to see censorship on NN. ~ | ||

When I was 12 years old, the music scene was exploding. The Beatles had started the British Invasion, the Beach Boys were hot and Motown gave us The Temptations, The Four tops, Diana ross & the Supremes and Marvin Gaye. The boy bands of a later generation simply copied the masters. ~ | ||

A touch of vertigo is back. Caught me by surprise, because I clean my ears with peroxide and alcohol daily after my shower. Not as bad as the last time, just hard to lie down to sleep. Have to lie on my left side. Getting better, hope it's gone soon! | ||
