gpflem's blog post - Today

February 3 is the anniversary of the death of Charles Hardin (Buddy ) Holly in 1959 along with J P ( the Big Bopper ) Richardson and Ritchie Valens in a plane crash in Clear lake Iowa.

He was 22 when he died and yet had a profound influence on modern ( Rock and Roll ) music. He wrote many of his songs and was the first to overdub his own voice.

To me he was the king of Rock and Roll.

I wonder how much more he would have achieved had he and the others lived. He was only 22 and had been recording for 2 years.

The music didn't die and he lives on in the music today even though many probably have no idea of the influence he had on those influencing them.
