depotguy's blog post - So ....

Thursday, January 3, 2008, 1:18:27 AM
I am busy researching chicken breeds to pick one for my farm. It has to be cold tolerant and should look pretty with a white barn.

Any ideas? I'm leaning towards the golden wyandott.

if you can, check out a Delaware chicken. it's hardy, and lays large brown eggs. plus, they tend to get plump and make for good meals if you keep them free range. they might be a little harder for you to come by, but worth the extra $$. (i grew up next to a farm near Delaware)

Well this is a tough one! I'll just cook them once they're raised and killed. I do a great roast chicken dinner! Hugs xxxx
