Thanks to all for the lovely comments and pm’s. Well today I woke up in Rome. Yah, Rome. I had to mention this before I guess, but I didn’t look forward to this trip (it has ruined my other plans). It is for work with most of my colleagues. A 3 days seminar. And while boyfriend’s holiday just started (he took 5 weeks off), I’m working. Well, normally I’m free next week, but I don’t consider it a holiday. I have so many things to do, that it is more a work holiday then something else. But it will be strange having him 5 weeks around me (but that is a good thing). Things went like this yesterday. I was off at 4 pm, but like always I was away at 4.30 pm. Luckily boyfriend picked me up at work, so we had some time in the car. Arriving home, he had surprisingly made something to eat. I was very flattered by his spontaneous cooking skills. After that we packed my stuff, talked about his week (he is in Brussels 4 days a week). And then it was already time to say goodbye. Hardly had a good look at him and I was already standing at the airport. I found it very depressing to have so little time while I had so many things to say. On the plane it was crazy. We were with a total of 50 people. It was like a school trip, but then without a teacher. So much talking, joking, and laughing. And it did give me the change to get to know some of the colleagues I don’t work with. And that is always nice. Arriving at Rome we all checked in the hotel. Did had a short drink with some of them and then off to bed. And this morning I woke up in Rome. A bit strange seeing I was in Paris yesterday. This afternoon we are back having a seminar, but now we have like 4 hours of free time. So I’m going to do some sightseeing with some of my collegues. Well, not really sightseeing. I suggested getting some ice cream from ‘San Crispino’, my favourite gelaterie. And if we have time left we will try to make it to the ‘Fonatana di Trevi’. Every time I’m in Rome I toss a coin in the fountain. And seems it must have some magic, because I always come back to Rome. And with that nice weather, I would even consider to make a dive in the fountain. I do that sometimes. But we are in Rome, and I’m not Anita Erberg (from the famous scene in La Dolce Vitta). So I don’t think that will happen today. I find that sometimes strange, so many cops protecting a fountain. Or would they guard all the coins. I wonder where all that money goes to at the end of the day. Oooh well, I will try to enjoy this weekend, but some part is looking forward to Monday, when I’m coming home. But now, it is time to go to the gelato boys. So you all have a nice day, and get some ice cream if you have the change. |
