I had planned to stay in today. Just working at home, relaxed. Away from the busy office. Just working a bit. Filling, doing some reports, catching up with some reading,… Nothing to heavy. Suddenly my phone went. I pick up and it was a friend on the line. Asking me if I could help him out. This friend is a chef cock and he wanted me to pick some stuff up for him, seeing he was stocked in the kitchen. So to make the telephone chat short, he had like a very big reservation, and also a few outdoor events today, so he didn’t have enough dishes, glasses… Anyhow, after I got the driving instructions, I went on the road. Driving boyfriend big car. Yah, some laugh with the idea of me driving his car. I have no idea why, but some guys have a wild imagination. After I drove for 20 minutes I arrived at the place. It was a shop that was specialised in restaurant equipment. So you could find like a whole professional kitchen, but you also find napkins, and stuff like that. After I spoke with a salesperson some guys would help me with putting it all in my car. I already found that very strange that I would get some help. And when the guys arrived and asked where my car was parked I found it very strange. A bit later my suspicious was correct. They came with almost 200 fish dishes, 200 dessert dishes, 175 wine glasses, 175 champagne glasses,... And I was like, is that all for me?? I was looking shocked when I saw them putting that all in my car. And I was already wondering if it all would fit inside my ‘petit’ car. Or better, I was wondering if I didn’t need to come with a truck. So after they had done that, I looked again at my car. I was already sweating with the idea of my driving back to the restaurant. I consider myself as a good driver (on a good day). But today I was very nervous. All the dishes, all the glasses,... So breakable. And knowing me, I would just speed over a speed bum and hear it all brake. I was much stressed to drive like that. Driving very slow, driving like an old lady. And already praying I would make it. And I’m not even so religious. But I did make it. And nothing broke. I don’t know if it was god, or just my driving skills, but I was relief I made it without pieces. And my friend, he just laugh. He said, we ran a marathon, so I knew you could do that. Yah, although I laughed, I was like… never again. So my calm afternoon became very stressful. But it was an experience. And that is the most important. |
