Symptoms of Paranoia
The symptoms of paranoia can include:

Being defensive, hostile, and aggressive
Being easily offended
Believing you are always right and having trouble relaxing or letting your guard down
Not being able to compromise, forgive, or accept criticism
Not being able to trust or confide in other people
Reading hidden meanings into people’s normal behaviors

💯

Recognized. Also, there is a young adult I deal with that has Paranoid Personality Disorder. I suggested it to his parents when I saw it becoming worse and sure enough...that's what it was! People with PPD often don’t believe that their behavior is anything out of the ordinary.

It may seem completely rational to them to be suspicious of others. However, those around them may (likely always DO) believe this distrust is unwarranted - because it IS!

It's very difficult to treat - mostly because when they are believing that others have hidden motives or are out to harm them (in other words, experiencing persecutory delusions)...they can't even trust a professional who tries to help. ✌
