SunGod_dess's blog post - Yes or No ....

Monday, July 10, 2017, 6:30:43 AM
I found this post and decided to share it with you, should make for an
interesting discussion, at least. How many of us still put a
"guard in front of our mouths", like the "old people" would have said?
Maybe modern society are becoming too ignorant towards "feelings"
due to, too much focus on the "me" in all of us ... "what's important to me ...
instead of what's important to the world ... etc." I would love to hear
your views and opinions on this one ... Hugs and kisses, Sun ... xxx

Yes and no, depends on the place situation and company your keeping, if I want someone not to say something in response then it's zipp it sign across lips or pucker up lips miming shshshshsh., or simply discretely shake head and look in there direction. But if I'm inclined to bite my own lip I just fight it ferociously until I can't hold it.
Ultimately I do like the bouncing Betty as it's known in my circles, especially in meetings. That is just simply thro a open ended question out there knowing the answer and watch the prick who it's aimed at squirm as they cannot join in the debate because by there own addition and selfishness that would show there true colours.

But all in all, I should coco if I did say I hold back more than react, usually both barrels used in one go to blow someone out the water so to speak.

I've always tried to live by the old adage, 'Think before you speak." In modern terminology that's often expressed as, "Ensure your brain is in gear before engaging your tongue." Good advice still.

My favourite, when I was in business and involved in many strategic and tactical planning meetings was "Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and confirm it."

Running off at the mouth is an unpleasant trait in anyone, but sadly not at all rare.

Interesting topic for discussion, Sun

It's one thing to speak your mind and a whole other just to speak out. It seems that younger people today have no thought of just cussing in everyday talking. If i'd done that, I'd have been at the bad end of a strap!!!

My filters slip at times. Too often I think It seems too easy with electronic communications to forget that there is a person on the other end and they have feelings and thoughts of their own. If you can't see their face it looses some of the personal touch, and safeguards slip at times.

"I don't do well with hints. You're an adult. Speak your mind"
i think this applies to many of us
especially online :D

I like all your comments and have to agree with Ley,
sometimes one needs to know when to keep quiet,
but like what Arty said, one must speak your mind, Firewater sums it up well. I love your advice Mr URHot. What TheWiz is saying is so true ... for
example "Some guys on NN tell me they would love to have sex with me in ways it's cool, sexy and hot ...
then other guys speak the "same mind" and they
make it dirty, cheap and totally uncool." ... just an example.
One thing is for sure L2L ... I would love your back-up
in a professional meeting.

I think it's important for people to share their thoughts and oppinions. It's also important that we allow ourselves to listen. That's usually the part that's missing - the listening to each other without immediately feeling offended. If ppl refrain from speaking and don't learn how to handle criticism, then how can they grow? How can the improve their thought process and adjust their belief systems if need be?

We need to allow people to make mistakes, to say the wrong things - and we also need to take the responsibility to adjust and retune certain aspects of ourselves that could benifit improvement.

Me personally, I have no fear in speaking my mind. However, I am selective of the time, place and situation.

There is a time and place for talking. There is also a time and place to show respect and say nothing.
