SunGod_dess's blog post - Something I'm very sensitive about ... living close to nature, gives you a different perspective ...

Do these people realise that they are a problem and
have a problem that's caused by certain personality traits,
which transform into some sort of a "need", which at some
point gives birth to certain obsessions with horrific results
in some cases .... "why would you want to prove that you
are brave if you know you are, maybe it's the exact opposite,
you know you are not and are scared people will find out ... "

Couldn't agree more, Sun. Everything that's wrong with Big Game hunting is captured in this pic. How anyone can mistake himself for being courageous when he has all the weaponry is a presiding mystery to me. But more than that, I have no clue as to what would make anyone want to kill such a proud wild animal in the first place. Do such humans really have so little sense of what's truly important?

I do live in the woods and love it. I have heard, fox, and etc in my back yard at times.
Would never trade it for anything.

Absolutely. We share this planet, we don't own it, we disturb the balance at our peril. Mind you, we can't even live peacefully with each other, never mind other animals.

Hunting for fun is so wrong. Hunting for food is different. I would shoot a deer only if my children needed it to eat. I would wether enjoy them in my back yard and share it with them. Last summer I had over 50 wold Turkey's that would stop and share my chicken food with my hens. They were so beautiful. Plus they ate the tics around and in my yard. Also they helped the grass grow better with their droppings. I took many pictures of their beauty as the Toms tried to impress the hens. Love living in the woods.

I couldn't agree with this sentiment more. I despise trophy hunting and those who take part in it. It's not heroic or courageous - it's cowardly and weak.

If a man (or woman) could defeat a male lion (or a lioness for that matter) in his prime using only a 8" hunting knife - then maybe .. just maybe I'd have sense of respect for that display of courage and ability.

Wow, I didn't know TC was so good looking.
Seriously though anyone who thinks shooting animals is fun should be put at the other end of the barrel.
