Hi, We use Adbrite among others to show the text ads on the site. These ads are harmless but the same company has allowed flash ads to appear on some of it's customers sites, and some advertisers were taking advantage of this to open other sites. So although it never affected us, some anti-virus companies have put Adbrite on an alert list. I want to know - have any of you that use Trend-Mirco PC Cillin ever seen this when coming to NN? That is what I feel as we have pressed the button. 41 New servers on their way to us. These aren't just servers either - they are HARD CORE. (quad core dual xeons etc) It's gonna take a little while for them to be delivered and an even longer while for them to be deployed - but the anticipation is killing me. You know me - always pushing for the site to be faster. We need to acheive our goal of being the best amateur site on the web and more speed is what we need. Stand by. NN | ||||||

Hi, We are aware of this and are in the process of planning a very extensive upgrade to the technical side of the site. Please understand that we have over 40 servers runnning this site so any major changes to things such as service providers(as maybe the case) is a very big deal. We hear you and are working on it.. Thought I would share it here.. "The mixed reaction to this one is interesting. I must admit, I can't see what the problem is with drawing attention to peoples blogs. It means that everyone's blogs will get some level of exposure they otherwise might not have got. After all, blogs are written to be read, and are always publically available, so where is the harm in drawing an audience to them??" After writing that I realised what it was this page creates - a "Communal Blog" It is a single blog, like the ones we view for individual members, but each entry is from a different member. This was the vision I had when I dreamed up the idea - and I believe it works - brilliantly.  | ||||||

Hi, Yes as many ppl point out you can still see the old format it's called "Browse Blogs" and is in the left hand navigation for this page. The new "View Latest Blogs" page allows ppl to read blogs they might have otherwise never seen. It is a good way to meet new people for example. We will probably refine it though to not show images and also limit the amount of text from any one particular blog entry. We'll probably also play with the number - 50 may be too many.
