BoNfla's blog post - taking the grandsons to an airshow

This was supposed to be yesterday, but we got much needed rain so I wound up doing hony do's around the house.The wife had to work so I took up the slack for her indoors.I'm picking up my g/sons, 9 and 11, and taking them to an airshow near by. They've seen one so far, but nothing like this.Three world war-2 bombers will be on display, a B-17, B24 and a B-25.It's at an airport at a small town, so maybe the crowd won't be so bad.A friend is heading up the cooking for the crews, so maybe I can sponge a free meal too, lol.I'm especialy interested in the B-17.Those were used in helping liberate Europe.Thousands of young men died in the proccess from both sides.A shame so many lives were lost becaues of political differences.I can't imagine the fear of the men that flew and made up the crews in these planes.Odds were you wouldn't be coming home.Those are real heroes and should always be remembered and honored during the course of history.WW-2 veterans from the world around are dying all around the world now.Just that generation's time now, but a shame.
I was planning to use my 35mm camera for pictures, but my digital had spoiled me and I hadn't used it in several years.I installed new batteries and nothing. Don't know what's wrong with the damn thing.Guess it goes to the shop next week.Main thing is I'll be spending some quality time with the grand sons.
On a lighter note, I talked the wife into snaping a few shots for me this evening so I can enter the men's wet t-shirt contest.I got a stern look and an eyeroll, but after showing her some of the enterants she showed a little more enthusiasm.She asked if I was crazy.I told her the competition was stiff, but I'll be up for the competition, so to speak.I told her this could be just the break through I need for a carreer in the porn industry, but I don't think she bought into that, lol.Women can be so cruel for our ego's.
