Alpina's blog post - Heaven and Hell

My skiing weekend was heaven and hell. On Friday afternoon and Saturday we went skiing, and it was just wonderful. Snow had fallen during the week, and now everything looked fresh and soft, and the brilliant sun lit every little snowflake and made it glimmer. On Friday evening we were watching the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games and I knew one of the thousands of little heads in the stadium was my Phillip's. I would have liked to be with him.

On Saturday evening my colleague and his wife invited me to a meal in a restaurant, and that was when heaven finished and hell set it. All three of us ordered a shrimp dish with a spicy sauce, and at about the same time during the night, we started to vomit and couldn't sleep and felt bad the whole day Sunday, so that we travelled home rather soon and I spent the rest of the the day in bed and didn't even think of my blog.

My colleague went back to the restaurant before we left and complained and they said they were very sorry and gave him a generous voucher for another meal, but a wonderful skiing Sunday was spoit all the same. In the evening I was already asleep when Phillip's phone call came: He had been at the slope during the Men's Downhill Race to see what our boys were doing: our best just became second instead of winning the gold. So all in all it was a Sunday to forget.
