 To begin my sabbatical, when people started lessons again, I had special plans: I cycled from here to Venice and back, together with two friends, 800 miles all in all in a little more than two weeks. That was such a lovely trip - we did about 60 miles a day which gave us enough time for lavish meals in the evenings and plenty of red wine. In Venice it rained for two days, it was when large parts of middle Europe were flooded, but we were not affected because we had crossed the alps a few days before. I felt quite fit and all went well - just my bottom hurt. I should have taken someone along to care for it in the evening when the daily ride was over and fun could begin. Well, maybe there might be some volunteers next time. If you feel up to the task, you could apply .... |
