Environmental art is something fairly new to me.. I just randomly stumbled across this guy, Nils-Udo, and was taken back by some of his pieces.. Really quite clever and equally beautiful.. I had to share!
I have been collecting images of male dancers for the past year - I've been meaning to do a blog on the subject for a while as I've found some achingly beautiful images.. I find them absolutely awe inspiring, for numerous reasons.. Their physiques are godly - perfect.. Using the word "perfect" to describe a person is a debatable topic and perhaps not the best word, however, just a glimpse at their bodies makes my mouth open and expletives in admiration soon follow. The gracefulness in the way they move is heavenly - how they can be so agile yet so masculine is breath taking.
I stumbled across this video last night and was taken away by it..
"Ballet Dancer Sergei Polunin Simply Slays Hozier's 'Take Me To Church' What happens when you combine the talents of Russia's ballet bad boy Sergei Polunin, Irish gospel luminary Hozier and photography pop wizard David LaChapelle? Apparently, a whole lot of angsty, sexy, beautiful dancing ensues.
LaChapelle directed the new visual interpretation of the Grammy-nominated hit, starring British Royal Ballet vet Polunin performing choreography by Jade Hale-Christofi. The emotive dancer, donning only nude tights and a cluster of tattoos, sautés, tombés and pirouettes through an illuminated empty space. The white room clashes with the dark energy of the bluesy song, making Polunin's stunning dance moves resemble some kind of spiritual possession."
...just beautiful.. and with the song.. hauntingly beautiful.. it grips me by the heart each time I watch it..
...and with that being said. I wish everyone a lovely weekend. Don't be scared of opening your hearts!
