"There were thistles, Kangaroo Paw, ranunculus and peonies, hydrangeas, delphiniums and over 40 varieties of roses. In all, 14 species of 16,000 individual flowers lay in sweet-smelling drifts on lunch tables set up last weekend at the Viacom building in Times Square, home of MTV. There, more than 200 volunteers threaded blooms onto lengths of copper wire that were then gathered into bundles and hung above the building’s two entrances and in the visitors’ center. Standing under them and looking up, you were caught in a different sort of blizzard than the one that was expected this week. It was spring, abstracted, designed and orchestrated by Rebecca Louise Law, a British artist whose medium is flowers."
