It is so true what they say, as you age the years go by faster.

This time a year ago seems like yesterday and although it is cliché to say so, I have to tell it like it is

So - it's our sixth birthday today and yes we do have some surprises up our sleeve as we do every year at this time

Alas, due to some unfortunately timed flu the "surprises" are still a few days away. We won't let that put a dampener on things though - and here at NN HQ we are jumping around with balloons and party hats on - hehe.

Once again, I'd like to thank EVERYONE that supports this site it is fantastic to see us pass the six year mark. That is forever in internet time as you know.

So - stick around for the rest of the week and help us celebrate Birthday number 6

This site has existed for well over 5 years now. In those 5 years we have every so often had an "upheaval" in the forums.

This isn't the first and it won't be the last.

I'm am perplexed that a certain few members are trying to paint a picture of me and or support as the "enemy". You know the ones - posting threads with profanities towards us or just whining extremely loudly over some action we have taken.

We are not the enemy. We are the providers of this service to you. This service that most of you have grown fond of, have found new friends on, and have had a lot of fun on. What is to be achieved by trying to portray us as the enemy?

When situations like the ones of late arise, we have to do what is best for this site, period. We don't act with favoritism towards any members, or persecute any either. We simply do what needs to be done to keep the service running in a harmonious way in order to make it a pleasant place for the majority of our members.

I am tired, so tired of having to read inaccurate reports of "NN did this", "NN did that" and what not. We created this place - it is what it is because of decisions we made and keep making. We make decisions in the best interests of the majority and that is all we can do.

We've made a few errors I am sure along the way - but for the most part we have got it right which is why you're here. Doesn't that mean a little bit of trust is warranted? Don't just jump onto the BS consipiracy theory that you heard from some disgruntled member.

So please - enough of the "doomsday" threads and threads that have the sole intention of continuing the bickering, as I have said before it's an Adult site and I'd like to see all our members behave that way.

One final note - re: thread deletions etc. Yes - we are doing it and we have every right to. As you will read on the rules, "All decisions are at the discretion of moderators of this forum and no discussion will be entered into. " In percentage terms we remove so little that goes onto the forum, and what we do remove is removed for good reason.

Footnote: FREEDOM OF SPEECH

I am even more tired of reading posts where members state their "freedom of speech" has been violated.

Freedom of speech doesnt mean you can say what you like on NN. It means you are entitled to start your own site and say what you want on it. An example - you can't write a letter to the New York Post and demand that they print it - it is at their discretion whether it is printed or not. NN is a business and we have ultimate say on what text is in our forum. Period.

Hi,

I don't want to go into details about the forum issues here, but I do want to update you on the plans to improve it.

Moderation is coming to the forum, and we are using the "closed" time to implement it. It won't be moderation as you are used to on other forums, but I am hopeful it will address the current problems with the forum.

I have mentioned previously that I plan to "tighten the rules" on the forum, and now I am asking you guys for input here on what rules you want to see added, or removed or edited so that when the new moderated forum is in place everyone has had opportunity to have input into the rules.

Hi,

To be honest the header hasn't changed for about 4 years. So tonight I felt like a change.

I know the whole look and feel of the site needs an "update" and in that update we will most probably allow you to choose from a few different colour schemes, but other things are taking priority at the moment. It is no small task to reskin the entire site.

As to the new header being to bright - here is an image with both side by side. It is brighter but I feel it's a postive step.

So this is gonna have to do for now
