question for Sprintcup experts
are there any other fast tracks besides Daytona and Dega where they drive almost constantly grouped together 2 or 3 wide till the end of the race? oh and where bump drafting is so important? remember, fast tracks smile

thanks

I was just watching the Talladega 2010 Aaron's 312, man this is the greatest track of the world!!!!! Forget Le Mans, Monza, Nurburgring, even Indianapolis: Dega is the best, there's nothing like it, never ever anywhere. Yup they always turn left but wtf: 5, almost 6 wide at 190 mph?!!!! This is fucking crazy and fucking awesome, believe me I'm into racing since 1974, only recently discovered Nascar and SHEEEEEEEAT!!!!! TALLADEGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never seen anything like it, seriously, it's big big big fun, much more fun than an entire F1 championship, wow! tongue w00t thumbup thumbup thumbup

I have been to a race there Fifi! It was truly something to see - When you could see it LOL. The track is so damn big you loose sight of the cars a lot. But when they come by at 200..........damn! And you couldnt believe the walls on that track. In the corners they are almost straight up..

My first NASCAR race was the inaugural BrickYard 400 and after being at many Indy 500 races it was incredible! Yes, 200 mph stock cars going around bumper to bumper, two or three abreast is really something. And KockShotz, as for boring, it can be for some but if you keep up with the lead changes, pit strategy, etc., it makes for exciting stuff. You can also buy or rent radios that put you right in the action. The sound and spectacle is a lot of fun.Walter, you prob know by now Marcos Ambrose has a ride and finished 26th. Very happy Ford was 1,2,3! Good to see them in the winner's circle again! thumbup beer smile

Have gone to some NASCAR races at MIS and have had pit side seats a few times. A pretty good view of the start/finish line and the fun of watching the crew do their thing in the pits.
I love the loudness of it all, the cars, the crowd, everybody supporting their favorite driver through their clothing choices, hats, shirts, can coolers.
One year, when my son was all kilted out in his Jeff Gordon wear(back in the times of 'anybody but Jeff') I remember him being squirted with water many times from various Gordon haters, just in the good ol' race fanatical fashion, all in good fun.
So much more exciting live than on tv. It amazes me how much faster the race finishes live than when watching on tv.

Well said, Curious. We have sat overlooking the pits several times at Indy and like you, loved watching the pit action. But we were always the kiss of death for the teams we sat behind, they always went out of the race early! sad

Curious,

We're talking about it too. We've been to the Gateway track at St. Louis for the Nationwide race (it was the Busch series at the time) and to Indy for the Brickyard four years ago.

My wife's not a huge fan of the races, but she'll go, although the last one we went to it was just me and our son.

Maybe we'll see you in Chicagoland this year. wink thumbup1

fesch, did you see the speed those guys were clocking during practice? w00t

NASCAR officials need to STFU and let the guys run balls out...just imagine 'em running 4 or 5 wide at 'Dega at 220 mph w00t
