Banned Words

It's a bit frustrating to type a long PM, status or blog only to have it vanish into the digital waste land. A lot of times the cause can be a banned word. Below are some of the banned words on the site. Any derivative of the following words will not work on the site. If you know of others, please add them to the list.

Betty
Bestie
daddy
daughter
kill
mommy
xxxx
YMCA (some sentences)

Murder is also banned.

I was making a sentence about a murder of crows and it didn't work.

Fagg is banned. Which is weird because it means cigarette.
and so are other words that mean something in Britain that is normal in everyday life.

You can't use the word

Gxxxx

or for future sake, any word that has the word xxxx included in it.

Which makes it hard when we are discussing wine.

the "Y" if by design of tha werd, the bot sees as Yahoo, it deletes, hence YMCA is off the menu, and the

emote too

I've tried to get into the habit of doing CTRL/A and CTRL/C to store my text in the paste buffer before posting stuff.

It's bloody stupid that we have to do that. Especially when it's absurd things like the word 'xxxxxx'.

Yah, I completely agree with you Steel. This is obviously an adult web site and we should all be adults here. We don't need a bunch of words banned to "protect" us from seeing/saying them. We have several pretty damn good mods that can mute people if they're spouting hate or inappropriate behavior.

Well, this is a safty automated system as I learm more.

For example, it's a common chat to mention things like pain kil*lers like asprin.

kil*lers is on NN's banned list, so the post cannot appear.

Nothings perfect, but I guess this could be for the better now I understand more about it.
