Tuesday, June 18, 2019, 3:53:42 PM- Mixing business with pleasure...
It's a trope even older than the internet. Typical plumber / taxi driver / pool bloke scenarios. They all feature somewhere in porn. Do they occur so much in real life?

A lot of professionals and regular workers have started an affair with a co-worker. Still more flirting that does not lead to anything happens on a daily basis. There seems to be also a limited number of people posting nude/semi nude pics taken at the workplace. In the fantasy rich imagination, workplace affairs, romance or even just a casual quickie in the toilets occur quite frequently. At base though, most people are too conscious of the risks, and probably fed on the "don't shit where you eat" motto. It's led me to muse on the very limited experience of workplace sex in my repertoire. My fiction touches on various aspects of it, such as the excitement inherent in the risk of discovery, the taboo nature of having a relationship with a superior and the heightened senses that occur due to it taking place outside of my comfort zone.

My latest story focuses on a workplace romance, which begins as something much more superficial. In drawing on my limited references, I realised that I do subconsciously think about sex even while at work. Sometimes it's taboo, at others, just wildly unrealistic. Whichever of the two, it adds spice to the unfamiliar story line. And I LOVE a good back story.

Watch this space...

Tuesday, June 18, 2019, 12:27:52 PM- It's been a while...
This phrase is over used in the sexual context. I don't think it's super important as long as the quality of sex is rewarding, or as long as I'm happy and healthy!

It certainly has been a while since I visited NN for anything except a quick, casual glance at my friend activity and for some inspiration for self-shot pics. Today, having a little more time on my hands, I was able to delve a bit deeper into the app and even check my notifications. It was a lovely surprise to see all the appreciation feedback from one of my favourite friends, WendySilvia. Had I not taken the time to scroll through my notifications, I would have missed the pleasant and affirming comments. I thank her for this, and for her own awesome, sexy and imagination- feeding posts!

Summer has just begun it seems. My thoughts turn to less clothes and more outside. And for the days when I can't enjoy the solitude of nature and the pleasure of outdoor love making, my imagination is already fired up to resume my writing. One of many of the great pleasures brought me by this site and the good people who populate it.

Monday, June 8, 2015, 6:30:44 PM- Penis envy/ Penis ego...
The actual definition of penis envy seems to be subjective for the most part. A recent experience left me wondering if this "condition" manifests itself in other ways? Transpose "penis rivalry" to a hobby, and that seems to be true.

To set the scene: I have been taking photos since I was 8 years old, barely old enough to understand how photography worked. I learned on an old 126 Kodak instamatic that my dad managed to beg from a junk store. From then on, I learned all I could about photography, I practiced it whenever my budget would allow, and once in a blue moon, I upgraded my equipment. To begin with, upgrading for me meant "increasing features" rather than any improvement in quality. Cue in my first autofocus compact camera, which had a focus success rate of about 1 in 20 pictures. I learned the hard and expensive way, how to get good results with fewer bells and whistles.

Getting a job, while still living at home, unleashed a ten year camera spending spree. I bought just about every item of "professional" equipment I could afford, and some that I could not. Apart from faster lenses, heavier cameras and some degree of ruggedness, I never noticed any big advantage; two things seemed to make a good image; a good lens and a photographer composing the image well, using the full capabilities of the camera to get the picture right first time. Until about 2002, I had no experience of digital, and no particular desire to.

Emgigrating and nearly going bankrupt in the process meant I had to reduce my hobby expenditure drastically. That included photography. I had to plump for a "consumer" camera when my budget finally increased enough. Consumer it may be, but it took excellent pictures. I already had the photographic knowledge to quickly find the limitations. What was great, was coming on sites such as NN and discovering that people were making beautiful images with things as simple as a tablet or smartphone, sometimes even just a compact camera.

Until last weekend, I had believed that camera snobs were a dead or at least atrophied breed; with the digital revolution and the miniaturisation associated with it, there was now no need for a lens ten times longer than a penis and several times heavier. I tried out a hobby to which I'm almost completely new, and discovered that tackle tarts are unfortunately alive and well. While I was shooting with my modest 250mm consumer zoom lens (which was limited by a fence and the heat haze on the airport in any case!) two guys turned up, equipped with huge white Canon L lenses and camera bodies built to match. Whenever a plane took off, they pointed their behemoths at it, and fired away at least 10 frames per second, to judge by the sounds from their mirrors. That in itself was not very troubling, but when they started to take the piss out of the guy next to me, who was using a small compact with a modest lens, and my own camera, it brought up some bad taste in my mouth.

My point is, despite popular myth, size is not everything, especially if you don't know how to use it. Not only this, but being used to your equipment, practising constantly and "making do" is always more rewarding than trying to outdo someone with something that can be purchased. I was reminded of how petty people can be when it comes to material things. The irony of the whole situation is that I could easily hire expensive equipment, just as almost any adult can rent a supercar, and go pose with it for the day. But renting a supercar does not enable you to become a F1 driver, nor does owning the most expensive lens and camera in a 10km radius make you a photographer... or to capture images like the one I did, which the big-lens-sparrow-muscled guys missed smile

"I agree with both of you! The problem with a still image is how little appreciation the audience has, of what went into making it... sometimes the simplest shots require a huge amount of setting up, and the final shot is one of maybe 200 taken in one session. Almost any camera today can produce usable results, the skill is in getting to know the camera enough to make it an extension of your visual brain... not as simple as it sounds, but just takes a lot of practice. I've owned cameras that cost more than a compact car, but didn't find them any more rewarding than others costing just a tenth the price..."

Thursday, May 28, 2015, 4:49:32 PM- Good news!
I'm not very fond of starting status wars, and although it's fun to keep up the banter there, I don't want to post every tiny piece of news as my status. Quite apart from annoying the hell out of everyone, some news is stuff that only my friends would relate to, so here is my little bulletin for today.

I'm happy!

This week has seen some quite life-changing news for me.

Firstly: a cardiologist ruled out any trace of the neuro/cardio condition known as Brugada. For almost 4 years I have been living in fear of a positive diagnosis. Not just fear; xxxxxx to avoid any alcohol, even the tiny amount in cough medicine, not to mention just about all the medications available in a pharmacy. The fear that I could suffer a fatal cardiac arrest at any time without provocation, was also present but muted a little. I'm so happy that all the restrictions on my diet, meds and specifically on white wine, have been lifted! While not intending to go crazy, I am going to take advantage of falling off the wagon, this coming weekend with a delicious white to go with the BBQ.

Secondly, my long (as in year long) overdue Permanent Residency card arrived in the mail. For almost a year I have dealt with frustrating and resultless calls to Immigration Canada. They lost my application for a new card, then failed to expedite the replacement. Not too serious, you may ask? Well not in the sense that having a card or not is not a condition of being a permanent resident, BUT travel to the USA and out of Canada would have been much more complicated, let alone travelling back across the border... so now I am free once more for road trips, and even to buy and bring back some good quality booze at prices that won't cripple my bank balance! Life feels good!

Finally, some portraits I took for my roommate's boss last week were very satisfying, and she is booking me for a return visit. My new flash lighting setup (which will give me studio quality shots) also arrived this week, so all in all I am a very happy bunny!

Tuesday, May 26, 2015, 2:31:14 PM- Cold turkey
I hasten to add, not the drug related kind! I was musing on the nature of some of the friendships I have forged, that have originated here on NN. Some of them were either very fragile, or may even have been more imaginary than substantial, as evidenced by a few contacts that have simply dropped from my radar recently.

Firstly, I accept that it's any and everybody's prerogative to decide what they want from an online friendship, even relationship. If this site, an email friendship, a cyber relationship on another IM site isn't delivering, then it is probably a good idea to cut ties with said entity. How they do so is also entirely up to them. Unlike on most social media, the dramatic exit is not really seen here; perhaps a small announcement sneaks quietly into a status, hinting that we are going offline and giving a reason. A few discrete messages behind the scenes, leaving an email address to contact in future. Those things are to be expected. Thinking on other reasonings that people may have for cutting ties; some may have experienced bad things on this site, may feel guilty if they have a significant other who does not partake or agree with their usage, or worse, get caught using the site and suffer as a result. Some may even get into a new relationship that meets all the needs formerly met by this kind of site.

The above shows that there are various reasons why contact is dropped, all perfectly logical or understandable. Why then am I complaining in my blog? The only situation that I am complaining against, is that where I have been left high and dry by people with whom I was formerly in touch on an almost daily basis. Like some relationships, I realise that the intensity of the original encounter wears off, there is less and less to talk about, and there may be a natural tapering off in size and frequency of messages. I have no problem with this. What makes me sad and puzzled though, is when some have simply disappeared. Stopped responding to emails, even to messages which are completely neutral, with no mention of sexual or relationship clues. It is more the lack of explanation than the actual cutting off which bothers me. Honesty can hurt, but I would far rather see that than be strung along by someone who hasn't figured out what they want. I am not exactly insecure in the friendships I have formed here, but being cut off in a "cold turkey" manner leaves my mind pondering the many reasons why.

Was our correspondence suddenly unattractive? Did I touch a nerve in something I wrote? Was my personalised writing TOO personal? Maybe I sent a picture that was offensive in some unexplained way? Did the other person fear they were becoming too attached to me? If any of these questions were answered, I would feel a lot happier. I am not a stalker, if someone tells me they don't think the relationship is working, I can take it like a man. Rather than simply vanishing, at least send me a one-line heads-up to let me know that I am not to contact again. There is a particular genre which seems to follow a pattern; a woman (or "female" profile!) on here contacts me and suggests an email exchange of pics because they do not have premium. I will never accept this unless they can prove their bona fide on some other site, such as a viewable FB profile or something else that ties them to reality. It might even be that after having passed these "tests", said contact keeps up a good email or text exchange with me for a time. Then suddenly, dropped or ignored. It doesn't make sense to me. All I ask is open communication, honesty and a bit of sense of humour. I'm not insensitive to others' feelings, and I am always ready to accept people's reasons without asking "why" repeatedly.

What has to suck more than anything is when a person becomes friends on this site, yet chooses to ignore private messages, emails and texts, even those without a mention of NN, sexuality or any other "sensitive" content. I just don't understand!

"I'm with you there. Not wanting to level accusations at anybody, it would just have felt better not to be in limbo, when a) things were apparently going well and b) despite soul searching, there was no reason on my side to indicate what went wrong... it's saddening."

Friday, April 24, 2015, 1:15:18 PM- NN habits...
This might be a confession; on the other hand, it's really a section I wished to place on my profile, but my "about me" section is hardly short enough for people to bother with even now... I did briefly explain why I'm on NN and why not, yet I think it merits noting down.

How do I use NN? Firstly, I don't use Status very much. On some occasions, I simply check in, see if anyone left feedback or a message, quickly check friend and favourite activity then sneak quietly back out. Especially when checking in from my mobile, which is in the majority of cases. I might occasionally leave a status, or even comment on a particularly gripping one, but usually can't stay to continue the conversation. Perhaps I should be using the SFW app?

When I do post photos, it is because I have had sufficient time to take, upload and edit them. Not frequently. If I get a request, I may occasionally do a shoot specially, and have exchanged pictures backchannel for this.

In fact, one reason for writing this post was to clarify that I have far more than one "thing". It would be far more fun for others to find out via message, what floats my boat- but for those who read this far, here goes! (If you have premium, you could actually check out which posts I bookmark/favourite, it is pretty representative!)

Apart from checking my personal profile, I like to browse the pictures; additional to the uploads from my friends and favourites, I love to search the following categories:

Hairy
Creampie
Pussies
Mature

There is quite a theme there... also I love to spend time looking at pics with "outdoor antics" tags.

If discussing video, then I always come back to the "fucking" and "creampie" categories. I find this is often a quick fix, especially if I'm not in the middle of writing a story.

That said, I'm always interested in new and arty pictures, especially ones which truly break out of the box and arouse simply by being different. Note that, "different" rather than "extreme".

So what this boils down to, I get a great deal of enjoyment from the site when I have time to use it fully, and the above details precisely how...thank you all, especially those who contribute to the categories listed wink

Wednesday, April 15, 2015, 11:56:43 AM- Why Spigot?
Several people here have asked me where and how I chose my username here. Upon Googling "Spigot" the majority of definitions include : "N: A faucet or cock for controlling the flow of liquid from a large container; may be hammered forcibly into the container to initiate flow." which is amusing given the context of this site, but had nothing to do with me choosing said username. Neither does it have anything to do with the indelible memory of Rowan Atkinson as the hapless vicar in 4 Weddings and a Funeral, blessing a marriage in the "name of the Father, Son and Holy Spigot"...

In fact the origins of both my current and previous username were far more arcane. During internship as a student nurse, we were frequently asked to create usernames as aliases for accessing databases. Each time we attempted to make up usernames, the computer refused these as "too weak" or "unnacceptable" so in frustration, we allowed the computer to generate "completely random" names. Guess what? Spigot88 *(Changed for security reasons, though irrellevant now!) was the computer's first choice for me. It was memorable, had no connection to my personal life whatsoever, and thus when NN prompted me to create a username, Spigot88 was born. I deleted my membership in early 2014, and when I recreated my profile recently, it seemed easy to regenerate a name closer to my old one.

So there you have it. Sorry if debunking the myth removed some mystique, but it had to be done...

Saturday, April 11, 2015, 3:59:25 PM- Painting
Having had the rare opportunity to do some painting this morning in between celebrating Greek Orthodox Easter and some (non-fun) writing, I mused on how cliché nude painting is, yet how I am writing it off as a cliché in the first place without ever having tried it. Sure, in my teen years, my fantasy stories were luridly illustrated with semi-cartoony line drawings, some of which I was quite proud... but I never sat down to a real, non-sexual nude study class, nor have I turned anything but oil pastels to representing the nude figure. Rather stupid, because I admire the work of Lucien Freud and his emulators... ever since accidentally discovering his work during a regular art class at high school. I am a bit of a representational artist, so I don't think people would volunteer to model for me if they were anxious about me creating a "kind" interpretation of their physical charms. There is the rub; I admire the human body in all its variations, one of the main reasons for me being on NN at all. Maybe it's time to look up life classes in my local Craigslist? wink

Thursday, April 9, 2015, 11:21:00 AM- Dilemma
Recently, I've been writing erotic stories in virtually every free moment. I'm writing for a fairly narrow "clientèle" too, which leads me to a dilemma; my stories are so highly personalised, with locations, personal details, even slightly changed names incorporated to give a much more plausible touch to the plot. This means that when a newcomer requests that I post a sample of a story I've already written, I have an internal debate: should I alter a story slightly, rework it completely, or leave it entirely as is, forwarding it "as written"?

I'm no nearer answering this question. Of course, I'm keen that someone who is not familiar with my work gets the best first impression, but it would be impossibly demanding to write a new story for each person who enquires. It needs too much creative thought, and mine is already maxed out.

Thursday, April 2, 2015, 6:30:40 PM- Photos
As a keen photographer since the age of eight, and only held back by lack of funds, I find the demand of taking selfies for NN very different from the normal run of the mill stuff. Firstly, there is quite a high benchmark to which I aspire. I like my pictures to be well exposed, or at least in a way where what I want to empahsise can be conveyed. I'm lucky to have a DSLR camera and now a high quality smartphone, but it would be a mistake to believe that just having the right equipment helps me to take acceptable photos. It's a very different thing being on the lens end of any camera. From the other side I have photographed everything, from weddings to sunsets to flowers to extreme macro. When taking pictures by myself though, I miss the human interaction. It is hard to smile at a circle of glass, in a natural way when taking shots that include my face. I have to force myself to think very forcibly about the audience, and to see myself through their eyes. This actually adds to the complexity of the shot, as I am trying to tune out the technicality of the picture (is the exposure adequate, is focus locked on the perfect spot, etc) while at least posing naturally.

That feeling came to the fore today when taking a couple of request shots of myself at full length. I was pressed for time, and now my internet connection is down, my day just got a whole lot more complicated. That said, if people are to be believed with their feedback, the images pleased them! Which leads me to the question, for YOU, what makes a good picture on here GREAT? I find that dependent on my mood when logging in, I find different genres attractive and tickle my fancy. Sometimes I am more aroused by the very artistic, some of which have no full nudity at all. At others, I need to see a very explicit, very closeup pussy picture. For me, what makes a very well-rounded profile here as regards pictures, is one which has a little of everything. Barring perhaps the face shots, which I can understand not everyone sharing.

That's all from me for today, enjoy the TBT and be sure your TBT pictures are SFW if you post them to instagram...
