Yesterday, one of my good friends passed away. And it was on his birthday. The cancer took him quick and I think with out too much pain. At least I hope so. He never complained. He was a kindrid spirit and we had so much in common. Esp the lil things in life and nature. One year we took a Route 66 trip out west and had a ball. Our next trip (besides Mt Everest - lol!)was to be to the Bonneville Salt Flats. Maybe I can sprinkle some ashes out there one day........... Miss you pal!

Bought a nice steak to BBQ tonite - hot and humid out - started the coals on the Weber - went inside to change into shorts and a tshirt - grabbed an ice cold Bud - put the steak on the grill-
decided to water the flowers while cooking - the hose got caught on the BBQ - knocked it over in a puff of ash and hot charcoal - scooped up the steak - into the house and washed it off in the sink - wife finished cooking it inside in the broiler - a lil taste of charcoal - just like camping!

In parochial school students are taught that lying is a sin. However, instructors also advised that using a bit of imagination was OK to express the Truth differently without lying. Below is a perfect example of those teachings:

Getting a Hairdryer Through Customs

An attractive young woman on a flight from Ireland asked the Priest
beside her, 'Father, may I ask a favor?' '

'Of course child. What may I do for you?'

'Well, I bought my mother an expensive hair dryer for her birthday.
It is unopened but well over the Customs limits and I'm afraid
they'll confiscate it.

Is there any way you could carry it through customs for me? Hide it
under your Robes perhaps?'

'I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn you, I will not lie.'

'With your honest face, Father, no one will question you.'

When they got to Customs, she let the priest go first. The official
asked, 'Father, do you have anything to declare?'

'From the top of my head down to my waist I have nothing to
declare.'

The official thought this answer strange, so asked, 'And what do
you have to declare from your waist to the floor?'

'I have a marvelous instrument designed to be used on a woman,
but which is, to date, unused.'

Roaring with laughter, the official said, 'Go ahead, Father.
Next please!'*

Wisconsin Fire Insurance

A man and his wife moved back home to Wisconsin, from Arizona.
The wife had a wooden leg and to insure it in Arizona was $2000.00 a year!
When they arrived in Wisconsin, they went to an Insurance agency to see how much it would cost to insure the wooden leg.
The agent looked it up on the computer and said to the couple, ' $39.00. '
The husband was shocked and asked why it was so cheap here in Wisconsin to insure, because it cost him $2000.00 in Arizona!
The agent turned his computer screen to the couple and said, ' Well, here it is on the screen, it says:
*Any wooden structure, with a sprinkler system over it, is $39.00.*'
I always did find the Wisconsin logic far superior to most others.

Well, most of the time.
