Tuesday, August 11, 2015, 11:41:16 PM- Old woman and the gunslinger

AN OLD WOMAN WALKED UP AND TIED HER OLD MULE TO THE HITCHING POST.

AS SHE STOOD THERE, BRUSHING SOME OF THE DUST FROM HER FACE AND CLOTHES, A YOUNG GUNSLINGER STEPPED OUT OF THE SALOON WITH A GUN IN ONE HAND AND A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY IN THE OTHER. THE YOUNG GUNSLINGER LOOKED AT THE OLD WOMAN AND LAUGHED, "HEY OLD WOMAN, HAVE YOU EVER DANCED?"

THE OLD WOMAN LOOKED UP AT THE GUNSLINGER AND SAID, "NO,... I NEVER DID DANCE... NEVER REALLY WANTED TO."

A CROWD HAD GATHERED AS THE GUNSLINGER GRINNED AND SAID "WELL, YOU OLD BAG, YOU'RE GONNA DANCE NOW," AND STARTED SHOOTING AT THE OLD WOMAN'S FEET.

THE OLD WOMAN PROSPECTOR -- NOT WANTING TO GET HER TOE BLOWN OFF --STARTED HOPPING AROUND. EVERYBODY WAS LAUGHING. WHEN HIS LAST BULLET HAD BEEN FIRED, THE YOUNG GUNSLINGER, STILL LAUGHING, HOLSTERED HIS GUN AND TURNED AROUND TO GO BACK INTO THE SALOON.

THE OLD WOMAN TURNED TO HER PACK MULE, PULLED OUT A DOUBLE-BARRELED SHOTGUN, AND COCKED BOTH HAMMERS.

THE LOUD CLICKS CARRIED CLEARLY THROUGH THE DESERT AIR, AND THE CROWD STOPPED LAUGHING IMMEDIATELY.

THE YOUNG GUNSLINGER HEARD THE SOUNDS, TOO, AND HE TURNED AROUND VERY SLOWLY. THE SILENCE WAS ALMOST DEAFENING. THE CROWD WATCHED AS THE YOUNG GUNMAN STARED AT THE OLD WOMAN AND THE LARGE GAPING HOLES OF THOSE TWIN BARRELS.

THE BARRELS OF THE SHOTGUN NEVER WAVERED IN THE OLD WOMAN'S HANDS, AS SHE QUIETLY SAID, "SON, HAVE YOU EVER KISSED A MULE'S ASS?"

THE GUNSLINGER SWALLOWED HARD AND SAID, "NO M'AM... BUT I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO.

THERE ARE FIVE LESSONS HERE FOR ALL OF US:

1 - Never be arrogant.
2 - Don't waste ammunition.
3 - Whiskey makes you think you're smarter than you are.
4 - Always make sure you know who has the power.
5 - Don't mess with old people; they didn't get old by being stupid.

Saturday, July 4, 2015, 1:38:46 AM- For the Fourth of July in the US of A
As a kid I thought Symphony conductors were great. I loved Arthur Fiedler. When I got to be a grand parent I wanted to be him. I also thought John William was fantastic.
One song Fiedler loved was the 1812 Overture. Williams had an influence of John Phillip Sousa. The first video below is from the Bicentennial of the United States. The second is just because I love the song. *but I can't help singing "be kind to your web footed friends for a duck may be somebody's mother"*

Friday, May 22, 2015, 10:02:41 PM- Its Ponyman on NN69, the BIG AM
You got the Ponyman, spinning some vintage vinyl, on NN69 - the skip signal AM broadcasting from the wasted coast of the USofA.

This song is for the sultans of the side roads, the potentates of the interstates. Bet ya didn't know Ponyman knew big words like interstates *laughter*. The folks who keep the wheels of commerce rolling and provide full employment to lot lizards everywhere.

A Del Reeves original, "Looking at the World Through a Windshield".

Monday, April 27, 2015, 1:41:09 AM- For the St. Louis hockey fans (and maybe Nashville)
St. Louis knows there 'ain't no cure for the summertime blues'

I have various versions of this on my HD, Eddie Cochran, Blue Cheer, Alan Jackson?, I love The Who tho. I also figured some peeps might appreciate young Roger Daltrey with the open fringe shirt.

Trying to figure out an STS to this song. Always thought this could be a good strip song. Maybe in the future. Now it's just CCR time

Sunday, February 1, 2015, 7:14:03 PM- Puxatony Phail returns
Yes I am back, Puxatony Phail (Punxsutawney Phils cousin). Yea a friggin day early. Get over it. I am here because today is the Stupid Bowl. When all the friggin MILF’s in America go nuts. Not that I am complaining since they get naked. But the parties are a friggin pain. You know what it’s like to wake up at 7am with smoke pouring into your house – because Joe BBQ decided to smoke something. Yea the friggin brisket will smell like a five alarm fire by kickoff. But no one cares. Cause they are drunk and I am hoping no one has a squirrel gun. My fat rodent ass could get shot off for gods sake. And what the hell is a Patriot - should be named Elected Official the way they cheat. What is a Seahawk? All the animals I know think it is an Osprey. But I saw an Osprey the other day so I think they will win. How about that for a friggin prediction! Likely better than the crap on ESPN and those other sports channels. I won’t even get into the debate on Seachickens. I’ll let Jessica Simpson decide if they are birds or fish. My buddy Charlie Tuna says they are fish. Jessica has better boobs.
So I get friggin woke up today a day early, kept awake with the parties, then just when I get to sleep, some asshole will pull me out of my burrow. With Manfred Man covering Springsteen ringing in my ears. They wonder why I put sunglasses on. Friggin day when people dress up in costume after a day when people dress up in silly outfits. I tell ya, it’s tough to be a groundhog. Now I need to get a Latte.
