You just need a spray tan and a mullet now!

A Fiero? Good luck, bro.

I've got electrical problems. tongue Truck will start but the starter keeps going even after shutting the ignition off and taking the key out. blink

This one has been fully restored steel. It drives nice, handles well...but it feels like my ass is dragging the ground. LOL

pinched wires, failed solenoid, column switch... any clues?
my eldest had a friend that loved Fieros... he wrecked 6

has to be in the wiring or ignition switch steel. Got it home by starting it then taking the solenoid wire off which stopped the starter. So wiring or ignition but I'm guessing ignition switch.

between the switch and the solenoid... older or newer... does it have a fuse panel or a power distribution block?
power distribution block. 98 s10. Even tried pulling the starter relay with it running, starter still kept going.

Lol! I miss my lil Fierro with an "Iron Duke" 4 banger lol!
That sounds like the solenoid is stuck

i thought so too hh, but when I removed the solenoid wire it stopped, so that makes me think the solenoid wire is staying hot even with the key in the run or off position.

Is s10 still a rod from the key to a column mounted sliding switch?
and by solenoid wire I mean the little one, not the main power wire. That's still hooked up. Not sure what you mean steel. havent torn into the column yet. Just got it home a little bit ago.
the switch still turns everything else off?
yep. kills everything but the starter.
Hrm.... no clue... good luck.
gee thanks. LMAO I'm confused too. Only thing I can figure is something in the ignition or the solenoid wire is getting power from another source. But that's a job for tomorrow or Thurs. LOL

switch on that is up by the lock cylinder Steel. My Bronco has the rod in the column; switch is on the column close to the firewall

I'll pop by with my voltmeter

the buddy who loaned me the Fierro is a whiz with electrical problems. He fixes tv's etc for a living. He's going to help me figure it out tomorrow or Thurs.

HH you were right. Solenoid was sticking open for some reason. Don't know why and don't care due to it having a lifetime warranty. grin New starter on truck and I'm good to go.
