a word of advice. When restore two cast iron skillets of equal size and appearance, make sure you remember which one just came out of the 350 degree oven and which one is going in. OUCH!!
Yeah Roxy. Just a little red. It had been sitting about 15 minutes or it probably would have blistered. Didn't take me long to figure out which was which, that's for sure.
Just have to sand down the griddle and dutch oven and re-season them now. Bought a set that had been badly neglected and allowed to rust. A little elbow grease and they'll be like new.
I've done that when making a tenderloin that goes from stovetop to oven back to stovetop. Yeah. You realize it quickly. Bravo on the restoring though. : P
