Not-so-good news first: I won't be able to send cookies to my three favorite Aussies. Geography and economics make it completely impractical. My apologies to W, W and W. :(
Good news: Poohbare gets all next week off so I get to keep him for nine NINE!!!!! days in a row. :)

| Monday, November 16, 2009, 6:22:09 PM- | Mondays are very hard on me. I hate letting Pooh leave for the work week. Usually I just spend the day in a deep depression literally hiding under the covers.
Starting with this week, I'm going to try a new strategy: get up, go to the gym and kick my own butt, home to shower then dealing with whatever errands/chores need to be done that I usually put off until Tuesday.

I'm drinking wine while Pooh grills some steaks. Weeeeeeeeeeee! Typing with a bit of a buzz is challenging, but I'm up for it. I suspect Pooh will be "up" for taking advantage of the wine later.

| Saturday, November 14, 2009, 5:02:04 AM- Double checks the calendar.... | Yep! It's Friday the 13th alright.
Poohbare FINALLY arrived safe and sound. He was about 20 miles away when his car's serpentine belt broke. Oops. He was only about 100 yards from a gas station where the car could have been left overnight, but would the car make it there? Hell no.
So...I call a mechanic friend who knows a good towing company, get the tow truck dispatched and head out to find Pooh. We wait together for about 20 minutes for the truck to arrive. So far so good. It's a flatbed tow truck. Even better! Give the driver the address - he knows where it is - and we head to the house.
And wait.
And wait.
The phone rings. The tow truck was broadsided. Huh? Yep. Hit right in the hydraulic control box. Car was pushed sideways on the bed, but is ok, except that the tires are now turned and they need the keys to straighten the tires. The bigger issue lies in the fact that they can't get the car off the flatbed. Uh-oh.
So....back into my car, drive back out 10 miles to the tow garage. They're trying to fix the hydraulic box.

| Friday, November 13, 2009, 5:25:21 PM- | Gave myself a manicure/pedicure this morning. Now it's off to run errands and stop at the gym. Then back home for a long hot shower and a nap. Hmmmm Apple pie sounds good. Think I'll make a couple of those for later.
