One of my pet hates.......I am sitting in a queue of traffic at the traffic lights at busy time tonight and I am in a hurry. Now this 'gentleman' in the car in front of me decides to sit and let every car out of a car park with an exit onto the road we were on.......grrrr....i could have gotten to the shops 15 minutes quicker if it wasn't for this IDIOT!!!!

Pet hate no. 2........Having got to the shops finally and wandering around getting my messages I find there are only 2 checkouts on with queues half way across the shop. So I take my place at the back of the queue - then the checkout right next to where I was standing opens, so I have a quick look at the others in front of me before diving into the newly opened till. I had to laugh when one woman shoved in front of me as i was putting my stuff up onto the conveyor belt.

She turned around and said "Well, I asked for this till to be opened so I think I should be in front of you!!"

Now if she had done this to me yesterday I cannot say what I would have done......but I was in quite a good mood today so I just smiled at her and said "Well of course you should"

Although as she walked away I did have a few more thoughts of what I could have said to her....lol

Glad I'm in a good mood today!!!

Geez.....I dont know how to start this blog.

I'm taking a break from NN for a while - not leaving but I am taking some time out. I dont really know why, I suppose I have a few reasons and none of them are because of anybody here. Mainly, all I can say is I dont feel like I am in a very good place just now (I know it sounds corny but thats just how do feel and have felt for a while now).

I also feel that right now I need to give my daughters much more of my time and attention, so I really need to take some time to get myself back on track so I can do the same for my kids.

Like I said I am not going for good and I will probably drop in from time to time but for the moment I am not posting any more pics..........

Have fun everybody and play nicely.............

Once again I am stealing some midnight hours (and beyond) for my NN time since the day doesnt have enough hours in it for everything just now.

At the moment i have 2 kids ill, taking up a bed each and taking turns to summon me for anything like...tea, wet towels for their foreheads, hot water bottles, cuddles and general sympathy (not my strongest gift...but im getting better with practice)

This was supposed to be my first day to sit back and take it easy, although it didnt work out that way...lol....and tomorrow will probably be worse......My youngest is about a day behind my eldestwith this bug, so from what I have seen so far, tomorrow she will be worse (she don't do ill very well!!!!)

And then on Friday we have to go and visit family for an all-nighter before the partying on Saturday begins.....I will be relieved when next year finally gets here so I can sit down and relax

Still smiling though.....(so far!!)

Just stopping in for a quick hello to everybody, I hope you all had a great holiday however you celebrated it. We haven't stopped for nearly 3 days now but still have over a week of this madness ahead of us.....visiting, meeting and greeting lots of people we havent seen enough of over the last year.

Tonight is another night filled with the same again, then a couple of quiet days before we do it all over again next week..

take care and see you all on the other side of the year....I may still drop by but it wont be for too long for a few more days yet.....I miss all my NN friends

Ok....before anybody says anything....I know i have posted this before in my blog.....but at this time of year I think the sentiment of this message is really fitting.

Once you have read the message here I want everybody to know that you have all done this for me....at various times over the last year.

Charles Plumb was a U.S. Navy jet pilot in Vietnam. After 75 combat
missions, his plane was destroyed by a surface-to-air missile.
Plumb ejected and parachuted into enemy hands. He was captured and
spent 6 years in a communist Vietnamese prison. He survived the
ordeal and now lectures on lessons learned from that experience.
One day, when Plumb and his wife were sitting in a restaurant, a man
at another table came up and said, "You're Plumb! You flew jet
fighters in Vietnam from the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk. You were
shot down!"
"How in the world did you know that?" asked Plumb.
"I packed your parachute," the man replied.
Plumb gasped in surprise and gratitude. The man pumped his hand and
said, "I guess it worked!"
Plumb assured him, "It sure did. If your chute hadn't worked, I
wouldn't be here today."
Plumb couldn't sleep that night, thinking about that man. Plumb
says, "I kept wondering what he had looked like in a Navy uniform: a
white
hat, a bib I n the back, and bell-bottom trousers. I wonder how many
times I might have seen him and not even said 'Good morning, how are
you?' or anything because, you see, I was a fighter pilot and he was
just a sailor."
Plumb thought of the many hours the sailor had spent at a long
Wooden table in the bowels of the ship, carefully weaving the shrouds
and
folding the silks of each chute, holding in his hands each time the fate
of someone he didn't know.

Now, Plumb asks his audience, "Who's packing your parachute?"
Everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it through the
day. He also points out that he needed many kinds of parachutes when his
plane was shot down over enemy territory - he needed his physical
parachute, his mental parachute, his emotional parachute, and his
spiritual parachute.
He called on all these supports before reaching safety. Sometimes in
the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really
important.

We may fail to say hello, please, or thank you, congratulate someone
on something wonderful that has happened to them, give a compliment,
or just do something nice for no reason. As you go through this week,
this month, this year, recognize people who pack your parachutes.

Thank you all for your part in packing my parachute! And remember to thank those who have helped pack yours!

****************************************************************

I know it's maybe a little soppy to some, but like I said - It just feel its fitting right now for so many people around here....

kisses and thank you...xxxxxxxxxxx
