| Thursday, November 19, 2009, 10:16:45 PM- Some Skye and Moisha Antics | I've finally got a little bit of time to jot down some of the things that happened while Skye was visiting.
The first night she was here, we drank to celebrate her arrival and had a blast playing Wii while doing shots (Candy Canes, Dragon's Breath, Fiery Balls of Death, to name a few).
The next day we went shopping, and I showed Skye around my new town. Well, while her, Leth, and I were on our way to the mall, a drunk driver backed up in to Leth's trailblazer. We were on an incline at a stop light, and the lady claimed she lost control of the clutch. She started drifting back into us while Leth was honking his horn. When we pulled over, she staggered out of her car. Fortunately, there was no damage to Leth's vehicle!
After walking around for a while, we decided to go to PF Chang's for lunch. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken, and I didn't pay attention to what kind of peppers they put with the meal. I popped one in my mouth and started chewing it only to have my tongue start burning in pain. The peppers were jabaneros!!! I was sitting in the middle of the restaurant with tears in my eyes while Skye and Leth laughed at me. I had to vigorously eat my rice to combat the incredible pain in my tongue, and the rest of the day I couldn't taste anything.
A day or so passed, and then I mistakenly mentioned that I really wanted another puppy after seeing this one puppy in the pet store. It just sort of snowballed from there. Before I knew it, Leth, Skye, and I were at a farmhouse 10 minutes from my house looking at Lord Rayden and Einstein. Of course, my heart melted when I saw them! But, which one to choose?
"You should just get both," Skye chimed in, "since it would be mean to separate the two brothers." Oh boy.....
So, I now have two puppies who like to chew on whatever they can get their mouths on, including toes, cords, rugs, each other, the cats, the other dogs, etc.
And where is Skye? On a train back home! Evil woman, just evil.
While she was here though, she did take some great photo sets and some super hot videos, so in between enabling me to buy puppies and enabling me into having some drinks, she did manage to work.
Miss ya already, Skye!

| Tuesday, November 17, 2009, 4:57:31 PM- Skye is Evil | As you all know, Skye is visiting this week, and we're having a great time. I plan on updating you more on our exploits when I get some time. However, I did want to pop in for a quick sec, and let all of you know that Skye is evil (and Leth will agree). She enabled Leth into buying me TWO more puppies, both male Jack Russel Terriers. Lord Rayden is entirely white, and Einstein has one brown ear and a brown ring around one eye. They are very adorable but already proving to be mischievous already.
Yep, Skye is evil. Thought y'all should know. :)

| Wednesday, November 11, 2009, 5:20:04 PM- Thank you Veterans! | I just want to take a moment to thank all of the veterans and current armed service members for you sacrifices and commitment to our country. Your service helps not just America but the world. I know it is a thankless job, but I applaud and appreciate your dedication to it.
As a sister whose brother is currently serving in Iraq, I'd also like to acknowledge the family members of those in the service. May your loved ones return to you safely.

| Wednesday, November 11, 2009, 5:16:48 PM- Will the rain ever stop??? | It has been raining all week here, and it's starting to irritate me. I was suppose to do a few small outdoor projects this week, which are now postponed. AND, I was going to head to a few car dealerships. It's time to trade-in the matrix, and I wanted to do some scoping. But who wants to check out cars with it pouring rain? Not to mention, it is super windy today too. I'm looking out my office window right now and am watching the trees swaying back and forth.
Grrr! Here's hoping the rest of the NN world is staying safe and dry!

| Sunday, November 08, 2009, 4:05:46 PM- The House is Almost Done! | It's been a long month and half, but after today, the house will be just about done. I'm making the last push to get some of the bigger projects done, which will only leave a few things here or there. I am sooooooo excited to have a home again, and I know you guys and gals will be too, especially since I'll be less preoccupied and can stay on top of posting pics. :D

| Tuesday, November 03, 2009, 9:49:33 PM- Feeling better today | Thank you all for the kind well-wishes! I'm feeling better today but am still not 100% yet. However, I wanted to recommend something to all of you.
There is a magical establishment in the South known as Biscuitville. It is only open until 2pm and serves breakfast all day. It also happens to have the most amazing, mouth-watering, delectable chicken sandwich on the planet: The Buffalo Chicken Biscuit.
Tender, juicy, spicy buffalo chicken on a warm, fluffy biscuit is just what I needed this morning to start the day off right. If you are one of the privileged few to have these restaurants nearby, then get thee to it immediately for your buffalo chicken sandwich! And while you're there, pick one up for me too!

| Monday, November 02, 2009, 2:58:46 PM- I hate November | Okay, that may seem a bit harsh to hate an entire month. Who would hate a month that contains Thanksgiving? After all, you get to gorge yourself on turkey and pie! Everyone loves pie!! And, the day after gorging yourself, you can wake up at three o'clock in the morning and go shopping! Well, I still hate it.
Every year, without fail, I get sick in November. Not your run-of-the-mill cold sick, but full out I-may-never-get-out-of-bed-but-not-in-a-good-way sick. (Incidentally, I also hate March for this same reason.) Well, last week, I had an on/off stuffy nose, and you know what? Starting November 1st, I got sick. As crazy as it sounds, I believe my body and cold conspired against me and purposefully waited to get worse until November 1st just so they didn't break the cycle. Why they couldn't mix things up this year is beyond me, but all I know is this: It's November. I'm sick. And I may never get out of bed, but not in a good way.... | Viewers Comments (8): | Add / View Comments | Most Recent Comment: | "visit aus and the kangaroos will fix you" - wynnee |

| Monday, October 26, 2009, 4:16:36 PM- That's one clever pussy... | A little background: The frame for my bed is really two frames of drawers attached by support beams that leave what amounts to a center aisle between them. The foot of the bed has a door that encloses the space so that the gap is not visible, but at the head of the bed, the gap is left open.
In my old house, the bed was not pushed firmly against the wall, which created a space just large enough for my big, hairy pussy Hades (see pic below) to crawl between the frame and the wall to gain access to that hidden aisle. When I moved and the bed was broken down, I was stunned to see just how much cat hair had accrued in the carpet. It was literally matted into the threads of the carpet and had to be yanked up to come free.
Not wishing to repeat this in my new house, I made sure the bed was firmly against the wall this time around. But, that didn't stop Hades!
Hades quickly figured out that the door at the bottom of the bed could be opened with a little effort. As a result, I decided to sacrifice extra storage space and just nailed the door shut. I thought this was the end of it.
HA! Hades then discovered that if he opened the drawers underneath the bed, which contain my clothes, he could climb through them to get into the compartment. There have been many nights since I moved where Hades has woken me up by yanking at the drawers to get them open. One night, I even grabbed the Febreeze on my nightstand and sprayed him with it. But even that was not a deterrant.
I decided it was time to up the ante, so I put child-proof clips on the drawers. Now, in order to open my own drawers, I need to push down on a white bar before pulling the drawer open. "At last," I thought, "I have outsmarted my cat."
Well, I'm pleased to report that Hades cannot get passed the childproofing system on my bed. But, he can get the drawers open about 1.5", which is enough for him to stick his little mitten in and tip over my storage baskets and drag out my clothes.
*sigh*
Anyone interested in a male black cat that responds to the name Hades?
*kisses*
