Friday, December 11, 2009, 7:14:50 AM- People are funny
I don't mean funny ha ha I mean funny parculiar.

I have had a job ( Yea work!!! ) in a inner suburb on a major busy road. ( Some pretty good views too. Not as good as NN but good just the same ) The guys are using a sizzor lift and so have closed the footpath and set up a walk way to provide safe access around the working area. The walk area is taped and has bollards on each side. There is also signage pointing to the walk way.

So do people use the walk way. Noooo!!! They would rather do battle with the traffic - cars, trucks and trams. And when you ask them to walk between the taped walk area they look at you stupid.

Fortunately no one has been hurt. Yet!!! But if any one does get hit whos' fault will it be? I bet they will blame some one other than them selves.

Monday, December 7, 2009, 4:02:28 AM- Next seasons draw ( schedule ) is out
I checked it the other day. My son plays semi proffessional football ( Australian Rules ) in the VFL. It is the second tier to the AFL - a state league. Unfortunately not all teams have a seconds side which means the draw for the McGoos ( Twos ) is diffent to the first or senior side.

This year, Sandringham ( my sons team ) plays North Ballarat 4 times!!! Including the last two games of the home and away season.

Sorry I just think it is strange and had to tell some one.

Friday, December 4, 2009, 11:36:21 PM- I didn't feel like it
My son had gotten home from footy training and wanted a lift to see a mate. He was catching up with him at a local cafe where his mate was having dinner with his parents.

It was suggested that I join them for a drink rather than dropping my son off. I have not seen these people for ages and we get on really well so I thought I should even though I hadn't eaten and and looked a bit slobby.

We sat outside cause the weather was really nice. I don't drink when I have to drive but I settled on a nice white wine which I really enjoyed. We chatted about what we have been up to. Caught up on news about people we know and told jokes about Tiger Woods. Stired up the kids a bit and I really enjoyed my self. They are really nice people.

It is amazing how often just simple things turn out so great. A glass of wine, a capuccino and a chat - a live chat too lol. I must make the effort to catch up with a few more people.

With that in mind I am going to catch up with a bloke I have not seen in ages this morning. Better go.

Friday, December 4, 2009, 2:50:50 AM- Kids are
selfish narcisistic things.

My son has lost his licence and keeps loosing or breaking mobile phones. Most days I give him a lift to work and he generally gets a lift from one of the guys home. Last night he rang from a mobile borrowed and left a message asking if I could pick him up. No probs I can do that and called the number he rang from.

The guy that answered sounded like he was driving so I thought heres a problem. Not so as my son was with him and suggested I pick him up at a suburb much closer to home. Great - even easier. So I suggested a spot to meet up.

I drove up and down the street - went to the butchers in the strip shopping centre and got a few snags for tea. walked around looking for him then drove up and down the street once again just in case.

Finally I parked at the agreed meeting spot and waited...........and waited. Finaly I spot him some distance away and wave, get his attention, and he comes to he car. I then get abused and questioned about my movements because HE had to wait. I lost it in the end and screamed at him.

The best part was not long later I got a call for a job the next morning and could not take him. Ahh revenge.....kinda.

Maybe its just me???

Wednesday, December 2, 2009, 1:05:00 AM- Old and shitty
I know I am finaly there. So many little things annoy me.

One of the TV stations is advertising the new Survivor Vanuatu. No problem - I wont be watching any way, Not my kinda show - it annoys me.

But tell me when did this show CHANGE television as stated in the promo?? If it did - take it off the air and shoot any one that is associated with it cause TV is worse than ever. How did it change TV? Did we change into bigger morrons?

These promos about shows with outlandish statements just shit me!!! This is just one of them.

Old and grumpy - absolutely.

Sunday, November 29, 2009, 11:24:03 PM- The Polly Waffle is
no more.

Surely this can’t be true. What a tragedy. After 62 delicious years the Polly Waffle will cease to exist. The announcement was made the other day that the iconic Australian chocolate bar is going the way of the dodo due to poor sales.

For those outside Australia who have never tasted the delights of a Polly Waffle, it’s an Australian chocolate bar that consists of a waffle wafer tube filled with marshmallow and coated in chocolate.

I think the reason is that it is some what phalyc and as such the idea of sucking in this log to get at the white goo inside may have been......well jsut a little embarrasing for some.

I loved them - in a non sexual way of course - and will miss its demise.

Congratulations to all those that were drafted in the AFL draft.

Final thought - be careful using sharp knives. They can be dangerous.

Thursday, November 26, 2009, 12:01:07 AM- Vegimite
Its an Australian iconic food. On taost in the morning for breakfast or in a sandwich on its own or paired with cheese. made from yeast extract it is black thick goo witha salty taste. Yum.

There are those that have not grown up with it that will not agree that it is one of lifes great pleasures I know.

Well I have recently found out that it is not allowed in prisons in Australia. Well Victoria ta least.

What? This great iconic food banned from prison? A further punishment perhaps? Yes I know some would suggest it be allowed to continue the punishment mettered out.

But why would it be banned? A harmless food beloved by Australians.

Well it seems that prisoners are an imaginative and resourceful bunch. Seems they use it to make beer. Who'd a thunk hey??

Tuesday, November 24, 2009, 10:53:41 PM- Pearls of wisdom
I don't sleep all that well. Not a problem I believe, cause most of my mates tell me they are the same. So I wake up and lay in bed thinking I wish I could go back to sleep and..... thinking.

Now that I have decided to join the race of bloggers I think of all those things that I can share with all those that probably don't read this stuff or if they do think "what a wanker!!!".

Any way I think of some wonderful stuff and am amazed at how clever, witty and articulate I am. I need to share this with all my fellow NNers. Then I think of all the other things. My finances, a lady I know that perhaps I would like to share a romantic moment(s) but never will and all the other life issues we have. Perhaps I doze off to sleep.

Well I log on and think I will add to my blog. Now what was I thinking last night while laying in bed? It was really clever too.

There are three things that happen when you get older.

First you begin to lose your memory.

I forget the other two.

Alas we will never know what pearls of wisdom I may have been able to share.

You are lucky that you have been spared. lol

Monday, November 23, 2009, 10:37:49 PM- Kids aren't so bad.....really
I recently had a birthday. No big deal. I have had a few by now and I hope to have a few more yet.

Last year my son suggested we go out to celerbrate. Me, him and his girlfriend. We had to go where he wanted and I had to pay cause he had no money. Never mind that I was broke too.

He annoys me!!! He leaves stuff just laying around. I refuse to go into the obstical course he calls a bedroom and I am expected to be at his beck and call. Is he really worth all the bother? Why can't he go and live with his mother??

Then again he redeems himself. He decided that we should go cellerbrate my birthday again this year. Me, him and his girlfriend once again. He wanted oyters so a seafood restaurant was the go. I had to pick him and his girfriend up seeing as he has lost his licence.

Things not looking so good agan you would think.

This time however he has been working and went to the bank and got some money out to pay. As we all know seafood is very expensive and he spent WAY too much. So much in fact that I had to tip in just a couple of dollars myself.

It was a great evening and I enjoyed the meal, and their company, very much. He was overly generous too.

You know, he can stay a bit longer. Just till I get the shits again and forget what a loverly young man he can be some times.
