A fall classic in the Midwest for years, now considered non PC but no harm is meant. I am part Cherokee. This means to me the bright,sharp fall days, the smell of the earth and leaves burning and many pleasant relaxing times.

It is warm and windy, too bad it probably wont be like this for the kids on Halloween. I took a ride to Echo Beach with the top down and looked out at the moon reflecting on Lake Michigan as the clouds rushed by it.Fall is going quick, it's been a great one after the hot summer. Back at the house now the windows are open, the sounds of rustling, blowing leaves fill the air.
I hate to go to bed but I know that alarm will be greeting me before I know it. Hope your world is nice and peaceful tonite too.

Hi! Went up north for a weekend with my two sisters and had a very relaxing time. Just what the doctor ordered. Put the top down Friday afternoon and got up there just after dark. Stopped at a classic drive in Dog 'N Suds for a Rootbeer and burger.
Lots of laughs recalling our childhood years and looking at old pics with a few beers. Sat. morn hit the road to Lake Geneva and the classic wood boat show. After drooling over them for an hour it was off for a ride on the backroads - just repaved and had the road to ourselves. Sweet. Stopped at a lil country tavern for an ice cold Bud or two and then back to the house for a few more and a short nap.A wonderful steak dinner at a lil country inn, watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel movie and then slept like a rock. Up early for coffee and out the door thru some fog before the sun came. Top down, coat on (the heater is broke)but was a nice relaxing Sunday ride home. Back to reality tomorrow.

A Well-Planned Retirement

Outside England 's Bristol Zoo there is a parking lot for 150 cars and 8 buses. For 25 years, its parking fees were managed by a very pleasant attendant. The fees were 1 for cars ($1.40), for buses (about $7).

Then, one day, after 25 solid years of never missing a day of work, he just didn't show up; so the Zoo Management called the City Council and asked it to send them another parking agent..

The Council did some research and replied that the parking lot was the Zoo's own responsibility. The Zoo advised the Council that the attendant was a City employee. The City Council responded that the lot attendant had never been on the City payroll.

Meanwhile, sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain (or some such scenario), is a man who'd apparently had a Ticket machine installed completely on his own; and then had simply begun to show up every day, commencing to collect and keep the parking fees, estimated at about $560 per day -- for 25 years. Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over $7 million dollars! ...... And no one even knows his name.
