| Friday, May 10, 2013, 12:53:03 AM- 5 Rocks | A bit of a dreary overcast morning but decided to head out diving anyway. Wanted to try the new strobe. Got to the shop and actually got to pick where I wanted to go! The ocean was choppy, the sky cloudy so - not good for underwater photography but hey - all dives are good.
Going to take a bit to learn how to use the extra strobe, both in terms of positioning and power.
Loved the colors on this one!
Lionfish - beautiful but non native to the Caribbean and ruining the reefs
Colorful soft corals and sponges
Best photo I've ever been able to get of this little fish
Just kind of a cool composition!
Have a great day everyone and enjoy the world around you. There are some amazingly beautiful things out there.
:)

| Monday, May 06, 2013, 2:27:28 PM- Life on the island | Good day eh! (A touch of Canada)
Loving life here on the island; quiet, laid back, no rush for anything really. Nice warm days, a cooling breeze, and a wonderful ocean close at hand.
A bit of a road trip last week into the "big city" to find the post office and pick up a package - a new strobe light for the underwater camera. Should be good when getting pictures down deep or inside caverns. It was fun! Hopped on a guagua and 50 peso's later was dropped off 2 blocks from the post office in the city about 40 kms away! No issues at the post office and caught another guagua back to my little town here.
And, the strobe works and is all set and ready to go! Now to get back into the water and give it a try. Maybe Wednesday or Thursday.
Just a bit of spare time here so decided to build a trebuchet! Maybe about 1/2 done at the moment and walking into town here shortly to try to find some more parts that I need! Pretty useless project but hey - everyone needs a trebuchet!
And - booked my "winter vacation". Seems funny to use those words here actually! Shanghai, see you in January! This should be interesting!
The bananas are ripening, the lemons turning yellow and the pineapple is growing well!
Time to walk into town here. Have a tremendous week everyone. Stay Happy Happy Happy
..... and a huge thanks to everyone who takes the time to read this!
:)

| Wednesday, May 01, 2013, 7:16:24 PM- Deep Wall | A beautiful dive this morning at a site named "Deep Wall". You drop down freely to about 55 feet, then the wall starts and drops down to just over 120. Spent most of the dive between 70 and 90 feet. Simply beautiful structure and life. So peaceful down there.
Hello Mr. Moray
I just kinda liked this guy - he was so curious !
Sorry, a bit out of focus but I love the colors!
I could lie there and look at these all day
Thanks for having a look here and hope no-one is getting bored with these underwater photos. Just a part of me that I like to share. Wish you could join me
:)

| Monday, April 29, 2013, 1:20:53 PM- Apologies | Apparently my last blog offended someone. It has been removed.
I do offer my sincere apologies; it was just a bit of fun and meant to bring a smile or a bit of laughter into the world.
Take care all

| Wednesday, April 24, 2013, 10:02:38 PM- ouch, lol | Bought some "new to me" furniture today for the undercover area. Nice stuff really and fits with the existing furniture so was pretty pleased!
Anyway, put it out on the grass to give it a wash off and all of a sudden my foot and ankle are burning - BAD.!
Look down and my leg is covered by fire ants and they are making their way north! Getting bit, and burning, and slapping and dancing ............. rip the shorts off and jump into the pool.
Learned it takes a while to drown the little buggers.
By this time, the neighbor lady is looking across wondering what the heck is going on. Sheesh, a bit red faced to say the least.
Holy crap - swollen, burning, itchy as all heck.
But hey - the furniture is clean.
Ughhhhh
Have a great one all - avoid the fire ants!
:)

| Monday, April 22, 2013, 6:40:13 PM- Feeling like a wreck | ... so went to see one :)
The Descent
And there it is, at 120 feet
Penetrating (lol)
Light gets absorbed so a flash is a must
Coming up out of the cargo hold
Looking into the wheelhouse
Some beautiful sponges
And back to the surface

| Saturday, April 20, 2013, 2:45:47 AM- Miranda rights | Give me a break,
If I'm a good guy - what I say wouldn't be used against me anyway.
If I'm a bad guy - it damn well should be.
Why is this even in question ????
One more reason to flee the grid.

| Thursday, April 18, 2013, 5:17:33 AM- Racism | First: not the usual blog.
Racism: got to experience it first hand today, and it is NOT pretty
I'm pretty easy going, and I think open minded, but this almost caused me to do something I would regret .... well maybe regret
Went and gave blood today. A call came out for my blood type. A 3 year old Haitian boy needed an operation bad, and there was a huge shortage, so just went and donated - seriously, no big deal.
Was leaving the little donation room and got chastised by a person for donating "life to a fucking Haitian"
Deep breath, huge deep breath.
Was very close to pinning that person against the wall. Thought better of it.
It amazes me that we are all not one race, one being, one life.
Guess I got a dose of reality today
Signing off a bit different here
Peace, love, and understanding
:)
