As everyone probably already knows, wildfires in the Texas Panhandle and surrounding states have burnt more than a million acres in the last few days. This is the heart of cattle country and many ranchers are in the middle of calving season. Thousands of animals have been killed by the fire and many more injured. Those cattle that have survived have no grass. Hay lots and feed supplies have burnt. Many ranchers have no way to pump water from wells. Literally everything is needed from hay, feed, water troughs, milk replacer . . . even equipment to feed the cattle and to bury those that have been lost. Here are some links. Tax deductible donations can help obtain and transport the things that are needed. Please do what you can. Hurricane Ian recently had a devastating impact on Florida's farmers. The storm pretty much hit the heart of the state's citrus and cattle farms. Here is a link to the Florida Cattlemen's Association Foundation if anyone wants to help. https://fca.memberclicks.net/hurricane-ian-emergency-info | ||||
